Ambulance driver takes patient to hospital on bicycle due to lack of proper roads in Assam

In a village in Assam where ambulances could not travel due to lack of proper roads, a corona patient was taken to the hospital on a bicycle about a kilometre away and was rushed in by paramedics and health workers.

In light of the second wave of coronavirus, every part of the country has been badly hit. The commitment of frontline workers like ambulance drivers who work tirelessly and sleep in the ambulance is commendable. A similar incident happened in Assam and has restored faith in humanity.

A man from the Telesora village in Kasar district of Assam was affected by coronavirus infection and an ambulance had gone to pick him up. But due to bad roads, the ambulance stopped a kilometre before the town.

At the same time, the oxygen level of the infected person was reduced to 89% and Islam Uddin Laskar, the driver of the ambulance and Jainur Ali, the paramedic accompanying him had reached the village wearing personal protective equipment. They put him on a bicycle since that he could not walk and slowly brought him to the place where the ambulance was. About an hour later, he was loaded into an ambulance and was admitted to Silchar Medical College Hospital where he is currently recovering.
