Alleged Fact-Checker Zubair Lies About Amroha School Principal Joining BJP

A few days ago, a seven-year-old Muslim student from Hilton Public School in Amroha was allegedly expelled after bringing non-vegetarian food for lunch and reportedly claiming he would convert Hindus to Muslims by feeding them non-veg food and destroying temples. The incident became public after a video of a conversation between the school principal, Avnish Sharma, and the boy’s mother, Sabra Saifi, circulated online.

In the video, Principal Sharma allegedly defended the expulsion, stating the child made threats to destroy temples and harm Hindus. He further claimed, “We cannot educate such children.” Sharma also threatened to involve the police and demanded that a male family member come to the school to discuss the matter.

The boy’s mother, Sabra Saifi, accused the school of mistreating her son, alleging he was locked in a room for several hours and had been facing religious discrimination for the past three months. She also requested a refund of school fees, which the principal denied.

Sharma allegedly justified his decision by citing complaints from other students about the boy’s comments regarding converting Hindus and destroying temples.

In response, Sabra Saifi filed complaints with the Chief Minister, District Magistrate, and Superintendent of Police, seeking justice for her child. The Superintendent of Police has assured that the school authorities will be called to discuss resolving the issue. Congressman Dr Meraj Hussain also met with the family and offered legal assistance.

On 11 September 2024, he shared another post reminding people of the above video and said, “Remember the video from Amroha, UP where a principal Avneesh Sharma of Hilton convent school was openly accusing a 7 year old boy of breaking temples and converting Hindus? Latest update is, The school principal has now officially joined BJP. Is this to save himself and his school so that administration doesn’t take any action against him and his school? Soon after the video went viral, A three-member committee constituted on the orders of the District Magistrate. The investigation committee has admitted that the principal used inappropriate language with the student and his mother. But till now no action has been taken by the administration against the principal or the school or the owner of the school.”

However, the alleged fact-checker’s claim once again went bust. He claimed that the said Amroha principal had joined the BJP to save himself.

However, it was later proved that Anurag Saini, the school’s manager, had joined the party.

The probe into the Hilton Convent School incident revealed that Principal Avneesh Sharma used inappropriate language with the student’s mother but did not address allegations regarding the student’s non-vegetarian food or alleged threats of conversion. A three-member committee of government school principals, led by District Inspector of Schools V.P. Singh, found Sharma’s language unacceptable but did not take strict action against him.

The school manager, Anurag Saini, was re-inducted into the BJP, fueling speculation about political motives. The school has now formed a new committee to investigate the viral video further, and Sharma has been directed to work from home during the inquiry.

Despite being proved wrong, the alleged fact-checker continues to have the post on his timeline on the X platform.
