AIADMK Slams TN Police For Chit-Chatting And Laughing With POCSO Accused

The AIADMK has strongly condemned the police seen casually chatting and laughing with the accused gang-rapists who were brought to court under the POCSO Act. Their IT Wing handle shared a video showing the police engaging in friendly conversation with the accused, who were also seen laughing. The said video has gone viral and sparked widespread outrage.

Responding to the incident, the AIADMK IT wing posted on their official X account, questioning, “What is happening in Tamil Nadu? Stalin’s police are laughing and chatting with the rapists who gang-raped a girl!! Even sex offenders have no fear in the corrupt DMK regime!! The police who chat with the rapists have no sense of guilt!!”

Case Background

Twelve individuals, including minors, have been arrested in connection with the gang rape of a young girl near Pallavaram. Five of the suspects are currently in custody, and the Kanchipuram Superintendent of Police is leading the ongoing investigation.

The victim, a 13-year-old girl from Pozhichalur, lived with her parents, who left for work every morning, leaving her alone at home. A man delivering water cans exploited this situation, initially pretending to be romantically interested in her before sexually assaulting her. Later, he and his accomplices seven boys and five teenagers gang-raped her.

The traumatic experience left the girl severely distressed, prompting her mother to take her to Chengalpattu Government Hospital for treatment. During the examination, doctors discovered she was pregnant. Devastated by the news, the girl’s mother reported the crime at the Pallavaram All Women’s Police Station.

Authorities registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested twelve individuals, including Nandakumar (19), Sanjay (19), S. Sanjay (18) from East Tambaram, Surya (22) from Mudichur, and Nixon (22) from Pallavaram. Seven minors were sent to the Chengalpattu Juvenile Reformatory School, while the adults were presented in court and remanded to judicial custody.

Previously, five suspects—Sanjay, Surya, Nandakumar, Nixon, and S. Sanjay—were taken into police custody for interrogation. The questioning was conducted under the supervision of the Kanchipuram IG, along with the District SP and Thiruvallur District DSP, before they were returned to jail.

Disturbingly, when the five were brought into custody, they appeared to be smiling and relaxed, as if on a leisure outing, sparking public outrage. Social activists are now demanding stringent legal action against the perpetrators to ensure justice for the victim.
