After Sumanth Raman, Thol. Thiruma stokes fears about vaccination over Actor Vivekh’s death

Actor Vivekh known for his comical roles in Tamil movies passed away at the age 59 due to cardiac arrest at  4:35 AM on Saturday (April 17).

He reportedly fainted while he was talking with his family and was later rushed to the SIMS hospital in Vadapalani, Chennai on April 16.

The actor was admitted in the ICU as his condition was serious. He was placed on ECMO machine, heart-lung by-pass machine that pumps and oxygenates a patient’s blood outside the body.

Doctors said that Vivekh had a 100% blockage in the LAD (left anterior descending artery) vessel which led to a massive cardiac arrest leading to his deaeth.

As news of Vivekh getting admitted to hospital broke out,  Dr. Sumanth Raman posted a tweet in which he tried to stoke fears linking the actor suffering a heart attack with him getting vaccinated for COVID on April 15.

In the tweet Sumanth Raman said “If I remember correctly @Actor_Vivek had his #covid vaccine yesterday. Too early to say if there was any link with his illness today. Wishing him a speedy recovery. #vivek”.

After his tweet received backlash, Sumanth put another tweet saying that ‘science is important’.

Now after the passing away of the actor, VCK chief Thol. Thirumavalavan has resorted to stoking fear about vaccination for COVID.

In his social media post, Thirumavalavan said that the demise of the actor ‘has raised many questions’ and added that there is a fear among people as it was after taking the vaccine that the actor fell unconscious. “The government should clarify this. My condolences to the actor”, the Chidambaram MP said in his tweet.

Many lashed out at Thirumavalavan his insensitive and unwarranted tweet at a time when the Central and State governments have been making efforts to vaccinate all people vulnerable to the virus.

Actor Vivekh had taken the COVID vaccine on April 15 at the Omandurar Government Hospital and urged fellow citizens to come forward and get vaccinated. Both the vaccines approved by the Government of India (COVAXIN and Covishield) are completely safe.
