“Is It Not Our Duty To Destroy You?”: After Calling For Eradicating Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism), Congress-Ally DMK CM MK Stalin Now Talks Of Eradicating Hindi

While the Central government pushes for the implementation of the National Education Policy in Tamil Nadu, with the state BJP supporting the introduction of a Third Language policy in government schools—allowing any Indian language—the ruling DMK and its allies have consistently claiming that the Centre is trying to impose Hindi. They have launched a campaign against what they call Anti-Hindi imposition, with support from Dravidian media. In this context, the DMK, which has previously called for the eradication of Sanatan Dharma through Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, is now also targeting the Hindi language. Chief Minister MK Stalin recently issued a statement, accompanied by a poem, calling for the eradication of Hindi.

In a social media post on his official X account, he quoted the words of revolutionary poet Bharathidasan stating, “O Hindi language, in the midst of this joyful Dravidian land, it is you who will be cast aside. O Hindi, that has caused so much suffering, your cunningness will not deceive us! When Tamil youth speak, they open their mouths to the sweet Tamil, lovingly given by their mother. If we are force fed you, then is it not also our duty to destroy you? – Revolutionary poet Bharathidasan.”

This comes in the wake of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan rejecting Tamil Nadu’s plea for funding, as the state was unwilling to implement the National Education Policy while still seeking financial support. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai has exposed the hypocrisy of the DMK and its allies in their opposition to the three-language policy. Annamalai argued that the DMK’s objection isn’t about the policy itself, but rather about its potential benefits for government school students.

He highlighted several contradictions, pointing out that Tamil Nadu’s School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh’s son studies in a private school where French is offered as a third language. He also pointed out that TVK leader Vijay, who has opposed the three-language policy, owns a CBSE school that teaches Hindi and follows the three-language policy. Furthermore, the latest revelation involves VCK leader Thirumalavalan, who is a director at a CBSE school that also teaches Hindi and a third language, further exposing the double standards of the DMK and its allies.
