The AIADMK has delivered a sharp rebuttal to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) after the party launched a personal attack on AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), accusing him of betraying the AIADMK and becoming a DMK subordinate. Turning the tables on Vijay’s party, the AIADMK questioned TVK’s objections to references to family life, dragged up Vijay’s past political associations and alleged attempts to secure film releases, and challenged the party’s IT Wing over the content of his films.
TVK Accuses EPS of Betrayal, DMK Alignment
In its post on X, TVK accused Palaniswami of crossing all limits of political discourse and exposing his true character through what it described as vulgar and uncivilised remarks.
The party alleged that Palaniswami had publicly displayed his alleged traits of ingratitude, betrayal of those who trusted him, abandoning people who placed their faith in him, and engaging in collusion for family interests and personal gain.
TVK further alleged that after the AIADMK was rejected by the people of Tamil Nadu in the last Assembly election, Palaniswami had developed a clandestine relationship with the DMK and sought to continue looting the state by forming a government through what it described as a betrayal of the people’s verdict.
The party accused him of betraying the AIADMK, which was founded by former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran and sustained by former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, by allegedly mortgaging it to the DMK headquarters, Anna Arivalayam.
TVK also alleged that Palaniswami had not merely surrendered the party to the DMK but had become a complete subordinate of the ruling party. It claimed that he was repeating the vulgar remarks made by the DMK in public.
Referring to the former BJP ally as someone who had now become a DMK subordinate, TVK said the people of Dharapuram and Madurantakam would deliver an appropriate response to Palaniswami in the by-elections. It added that the people of Tamil Nadu would also punish him for what it described as his uncivilised conduct.

AIADMK Hits Back, Questions TVK’s Objections to Family Remarks
Responding to the TVK statement, the AIADMK questioned how asking someone to live affectionately with their father, mother, wife and children could amount to crossing the limits of public discourse.
“According to which dictionary does telling someone to live lovingly and affectionately with their family — their father, mother, wife and children — amount to crossing limits or using inappropriate words?” the party asked.
The AIADMK said it had not used any vulgar expressions or made statements such as the phrase “Ladka saiya”, questioning why TVK considered a reference to family life objectionable.
“Does asking someone to live with their family sound vulgar to TVK?” the party asked, adding that “a guilty conscience will naturally feel uneasy.”
The AIADMK also accused TVK of hypocrisy, alleging that the party had a leader who had filed cases against his own parents.
“Perhaps, for the members of a party that has a leader who filed cases against his own father and mother, affection and family are all bad words,” the AIADMK said.
The party then turned its attention to Vijay’s political past, claiming that his history was worse than that of anyone else in the world.
AIADMK Questions Vijay’s Past Political Behaviour
The AIADMK questioned Vijay’s current criticism of the DMK, pointing to his past interactions with former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
It asked whether Vijay had forgotten his earlier praise of Karunanidhi and his act of falling at the latter’s feet, even as he now claimed to be the sole opponent of the DMK, which he refers to as the “evil force.”
The party also questioned Vijay’s past attempts to meet former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at Kodanad and Palaniswami in Salem and at his residence, Semmanthi Illam, allegedly to secure the release of his films.
The AIADMK asked whether Vijay had forgotten his current political rhetoric during those visits, when he was allegedly seeking the support of the same leaders he now criticises.
AIADMK Attacks TVK IT Wing Over Vijay’s Films
The AIADMK also targeted TVK’s IT Wing, accusing its members of making vulgar remarks about Palaniswami without considering the content of Vijay’s films.
Referring to TVK’s use of terms such as “vulgar river” and “vomit”, the AIADMK asked whether those making such comments had ever watched Vijay’s films.
“Have these internet illiterates, who speak about vulgar rivers and vomit, ever watched Vijay’s films? Even after watching them, can they speak like this?” the party asked.
The AIADMK concluded by accusing TVK of engaging in horse-trading politics and claimed that its members were being chased away by the public wherever they went.
“Is having self-respect the only thing this horse-trading gang, which is being chased away by the people wherever it goes, has left?” the party asked.
The AIADMK ended its post with a direct warning to the TVK IT Wing, using the phrase “Adivasi… Adakki Vasi!”, which roughly translates to “Tribal… Keep yourself in check!” or “Keep quiet and stay within limits!”
