26 April 2024 marks the second phase of polling for the Lok Sabha elections in several states. These include Kerala, Karnataka, Manipur, Bihar, Maharashtra, Tripura.
In Kerala, veteran filmstar Menaka, mother of popular actor Keerthy Suresh, addressed the press after casting her vote in Thiruvananthapuram and extended her support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Menaka expressed her desire to see the lotus bloom (BJP victory) in Kerala and highlighted the need for a change in the state’s political landscape.
Speaking to the press, Menaka said, “For the past 15 years, the same government has been in power in Trivandrum. A change will bring clarity to the differences. My wish is that the lotus should bloom here. BJP hasn’t yet set foot in Kerala, so we would like a change from both LDF and UDF.”

Menaka also expressed confidence in BJP’s prospects in Kerala, particularly in Thrissur and Trivandrum. She stated, “Suresh Gopi has high chance to win in Thrissur. BJP is having high chances of winning in Thrissur and Trivandrum.”
