The Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has raised serious allegations against the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding the conduct and evaluation of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2024). The student organization is demanding an immediate Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry to address the purported irregularities in the examination process and results.

During a press conference in Surat, ABVP’s National General Secretary, Shri Yagyawalkya Shukla, questioned the timing of the result announcement, coinciding with the Lok Sabha election results. “What did the NTA intend to hide by announcing the NEET-UG result on the day of the Lok Sabha election results?” Shukla asked, implying that the timing might have been a deliberate attempt to divert attention from the irregularities.

ABVP has reported multiple instances of misconduct during the NEET-UG 2024 exam, including the presence of solvers at various locations and irregularities in question paper distribution. These issues have led to widespread mistrust among students regarding the transparency of the examination process, which is crucial for admissions to medical institutions.

Reports from different parts of the country have highlighted significant lapses in the arrangements for the NEET-UG exam. ABVP alleges that the NTA failed to make necessary preparations, resulting in chaos and mismanagement on the exam day. Concerns have been raised about the high concentration of top scorers from a single exam center, further fueling doubts about the fairness of the results.

Dr. Abhinandan K. Bokriya, the national convener of ABVP’s medical students’ division, MeDeVision, expressed deep concern over reports of student suicides following the announcement of the NEET results. “It is extremely sad that there have been cases of students committing suicide after the NEET exam results were declared. Proper action should be taken in this matter so that there is an atmosphere of trust among the students regarding the conduct of the examination,” Abhinandan Bokriya stated.

The ABVP is steadfast in its demand for a CBI investigation to ensure a thorough and impartial inquiry into the alleged malpractices. The organization asserts that only a comprehensive probe can restore the trust of the students and ensure accountability among the bureaucrats responsible for the conduct of the NEET exam.

“The growing mistrust among the aspirants of NEET-UG regarding the results of the examination must be addressed. A CBI inquiry needs to be conducted to investigate this whole issue and bring the culprits to justice,” Yagyawalkya Shukla emphasized.
