Tarun Vijay, also known as ‘Tamil’ Tarun Vijay due to his passion towards the language, paid heartfelt homage to former President Pranab Mukherjee. He said that Pranab Mukherjee was a great supporter of Tamil cause and had great admiration and devotion for Thiruvaluuvar.
Tarun Vijay said that he had on many occasions met Pranab Mukherjee when he was President and spoke on Tamil issues and also presented him a Thiruvalluvar statute.
He said that Pranab Mukhrejee was the first President who had the Thirukural sung inside the Rashtrapathi Bhavan by 133 students from Tamil Nadu. He had taken a group picture with students from Tamil Nadu who sang the Thirukkural in Rashtrapati Bhavan.
“Thiru Pranab Mukherjee will always remain in hearts of all Indians, especially Tamils” said Tarun Vijay.
