TikTok sues U.S Prez Donald Trump over US ban

US President Donald Trump has been sued by TikTok and one of its employees over his decision to ban the app in the United States saying that it furthered the President’s anti-China rhetoric.

Culver city, California based- TikTok and its Chinese parent ByteDance ltd. rejected the decision and also denied allegations on the basis of security and privacy of the app.

Patrick Ryan a technical program manager at TikTok has sued the government over the concerns that he and his 1500 colleagues, many of whom are on employment visas would lose their jobs the coming month if the order was enforced. The lawsuit filed by Ryan states the order suffered from “unconstitutional vagueness” and deprived the employees of due process. TikTok and ByteDance have alleged that Trump misused the International Emergency Economic Powers act, and are seeking a permanent injunction to block Trump from enforcing his order.
