“What Is The Use Of Cutting Off A Human?” DMK MP Kanimozhi In Response To Goat Beheading Video Dismissing It As Trivial

Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party President K Annamalai recently stated that he would contemplate stepping down as president if Kanimozhi were to join the BJP. This verbal exchange between DMK MP Kanimozhi and TN BJP chief has been going on for a few days after the 2024 Lok Sabha election results were declared, with both criticizing each other.

Kanimozhi, in response to Annamalai’s assertion about potentially resigning if she joined the BJP, emphasized the clear ideological stance expressed by voters in the elections, signaling their rejection of Modi’s administration and divisive politics. She suggested that leaders should take moral responsibility in light of this mandate. Referring to BJP’s performance in Tamil Nadu, she highlighted a decline in its votes despite significant campaigning efforts, questioning the efficacy of its strategies.

Addressing Annamalai’s remarks questioning her qualifications and lineage, Kanimozhi reiterated her commitment to the DMK movement, dismissing any intention of joining the BJP to further its growth. She emphasized her electoral mandate as a reflection of her qualifications as a representative chosen by the people. In response, Annamalai defended his position, emphasizing his father’s occupation as a farmer and distancing himself from political lineage. He reiterated his stance regarding his potential resignation if Kanimozhi were to join the BJP.

During the recent press conference, when asked about the portrayal of Annamalai in a video depicting him as a goat being beheaded, Kanimozhi responded calmly, “No, I didn’t see the video, he is the one who often talks about shepherding and goats. For those who post those video memes, he is reminding them by talking about it every day. But there is no need to insult anyone, no need to hurt anyone’s feelings.”

Once more, another reporter persisted with the same topic, citing Annamalai’s remark challenging DMK to try attacking him instead of beheading an innocent goat. She responded, “Well, if we behead a goat, we can make Biryani and kuzhambu (curry) out of it, what is the use of cutting off a human?”
