JioMeet has been launched in India by Reliance Jio. It is a video-calling app similar to Zoom and GoogleMeet. It allows users to conduct meetings or conferences with 100 participants. Along with high definition quality, calls can go on, uninterrupted for up to 24 hours long.
It is packed with features that would be needed in a video-calling application. JioMeet users can join from any device, be it a laptop, desktop, mobile phone, or even a legacy video device. This offers the user investment protection and supports the legacy conferencing devices. They can get on unscheduled calls with known participants or schedule a meeting at a fixed time.
To ensure complete privacy and security, all meetings are password protected and encrypted.
According to the company, the device should be any of the following – an Android – OS version 5.0 and above (min. 2 GB RAM), iOS – OS version 9 and above (min. 1 GB RAM), Mac – OS version 10.13 and above (min. 2 GB RAM), or Windows 10 with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 (x86 and x64) (min 4 GB RAM)
To start using the app, either download the app or visit the website. You can then sign up with your email ID or phone number and share the meeting invite link to other participants. To join a meeting, you can use a meeting ID to join a meeting. The one hosting the meeting can use the ‘Waiting Room’ feature to make sure participants join with their permission. Also, users will be able to login with up to five devices.
You can download JioMeet for free on Google Play Store or Apple Play Store.
