As per news report published in Swarajya, Police in Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday (September 30) has arrested a cleric for forgery and according to the first information report (FIR), Firoze Alam, hails from Nepal but has been living in Fatehpur for more than a decade based on fraudulently obtained documents including the Indian passport.

However, what is even more troubling is that the committee members of the mosque, where Firoze had been employed since 2016 and were sacked last year do not feature in the FIR.

But the sacked the members of the Mosque did made several sensational accusations against Alam and one committee member Majeed Khan has said in a video statement (link attached below) that Firoze would spread religious hate through his sermon and asked among Muslim youths to trap women of other religions and convert them to Islam, the member.

“A Muslim youth brought a Brahmin girl in the village. Firoze solemnised their marriage after her conversion,” Khan is seen saying in the video.

During questioning, Firoze admitted that he is a native of Nepal and had come to Fatehpur in India for Islamic education in 2001. In 2016, he began to work at the said mosque in Ghazipur and over the years managed to get many identity cards made in India including Aadhaar card (number 5432 2985 8091) and PAN (BBGBL6193Q) and got his driving licence (number UP71 2012 000 2643) made that is valid till 2032.
