COVID-19 India: Recovered patients exceeds active patients with a rate of over 58%

Based on the available data, the Government has said that recovered cases of COVID-19 have exceeded the active cases by 106,661. These numbers are encouraging and the graded, pre-emptive, and pro-active steps taken by Centre along with respective State Government have yielded results, the Health Ministry said.

The cumulative figure of recovered patients rose to 3,09,712. The Ministry said the recovery rate of COVID-19 patients has reached more than 58%. As of now, there are  2,03,051 active cases and all are under active medical supervision.

Considering the start of Unlock 1.0, with relaxations these numbers are very much encouraging. With the people following guidelines properly this rate can be further improved. The Ministry said ICMR has inducted 11 new labs in the last 24 hrs. Now India has one thousand 16 diagnostic labs dedicated to COVID-19. This includes 737 in the government sector and 279 private labs. The number of samples tested is also growing steadily every day. During the past 24 hours, over 2 lakh 15 thousand tests have been carried out in the labs. The overall total number of tests stands over 77 lakh.
