Islamist terror group Taliban executed a 21-year-old girl for not wearing a veil, on Wednesday (August 4) as the Islamist group backed by Pakistan wants to reimpose archaic Islamic Sharia law again in Afghanistan, reports Hindustan Times.

As per reports, the Islamic zealots dragged Nazaneen, out of a car while she was on her way to Balkh district centre. However, the Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid has denied the claims.

In recent days, the Taliban has intensified its offensive against Afghan security forces and civilians as foreign troops are completing the withdrawal and wants to impose its puritanical “genuine Islamic system”, because it is the only way to ensure women’s rights are in line with cultural tradition and religious rules.

When the Taliban took over Afghanistan in 1996, it imposed Islamic laws wherein girls were banned from school, and women accused of crimes such as adultery were stoned to death in stadiums and there are many horrifying videos available on social media.

As of now, the Taliban reportedly are controlling 223 districts and have again reimposed Islamic laws that defined their rule from 1996-2001 when they ensured women cover themselves from head to toe and were not allowed to leave home without a male companion.

Already in areas under the Taliban control, they have banned shops from selling goods to women not accompanied by a male relative and anyone found breaking the rules face punishment including public beatings.

“They urged women in a statement to not leave without a relative (Moharam) and also urged men to have beards,” Merajuddin Sharifi, a civil society activist, was quoted as saying by Ariana News last month.
