DMK gets a taste of its own medicine, #GoBackStalin trends at national level as MK Stalin visits Coimbatore

On a day when Chief Minister MK Stalin is making a visit to Coimbatore, the hashtag #GoBackStalin has been trending at the national level to protest against the CM’s visit to the region.

Coimbatore has been seeing a rising number of Wuhan Virus cases over the past few weeks. The district has been overtaking Chennai and topping the list of districts with daily new cases.

On the other hand, the district fares extremely poor in terms of vaccination. From May 15 to May 21, a total of just 4714 doses were administered in the entire district. It is only after May 23 that vaccination picked up only to fall again.

Leaders from opposition parties and the people have alleged that the DMK is discriminating Kongu region in vaccination as the region rejected the DMK in the recently concluded Assembly polls.  Netizens and leaders allege that political preferences of people seem to be having a role in the vaccine distribution by the DMK government.

In light of this, the hashtag #GoBackStalin has been trending on Twitter with many taking potshots at MK Stalin.

DMK and its IT cell which used to trend hashtags against Prime Minister Narendra Modi whenever he made a visit to Tamil Nadu are now getting a taste of their own medicine with #GoBackStalin trending.
