Shaine Soni has been declared as the Miss Transqueen India pageant winner for the year 2020. She will now represent India in the Miss International Queen pageant next year in May.
The pageant involves several rounds that includes photoshoots and talent rounds.
Shaine Soni is a fashion designer by profession and is also a blogger and a stylist. Soni who is 33 now, used to make clothes for her Barbie dolls using her mother’s discarded clothes. She has now made a career for herself as a fashion designer and a travel blogger.
After being crowned as the winner, Shaine Soni said that she will use this opportunity to work for the empowerment and betterment of transwomen.
“It’s high time we change how we perceive transwomen in India. They are not people you look down upon or have sympathy for. We are no different. All the previous Miss India, Miss World, Miss Universe winners were women with a purpose, and so am I.”, she was quoted saying in a report by livemint.
