14-Yr-Old MP Boy Dies 5 Months After Sexual Assault At Chennai Railway Station; 2 Accused Still At Large

A 14-year-old boy from Madhya Pradesh, who was the victim of a brutal sexual assault at Chennai Central Railway Station late last year, has died following months of medical complications. The boy passed away on Sunday (29 March 2026) night at Government Stanley Hospital, where he had been readmitted due to a severe infection, as reported in Times of India.

The teenager, who had been living in Chennai for about a year and supporting himself by collecting rags near the railway station, was attacked on 27 November 2025. According to the initial complaint, two unknown men forced him into an empty train compartment on a platform and subjected him to repeated sexual assault before fleeing.

The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) rescued the boy after receiving a call through the child helpline. He was initially treated at Stanley Hospital for severe injuries to his mouth, anus, and urinary tract. Following his initial treatment, he was placed in a government-run orphanage in Royapuram.

Officials stated that the boy’s medical condition required multiple follow-up visits to the hospital. His situation worsened last week when he developed complications, including a serious urinary infection, leading to his readmission. Despite medical efforts, he died on Sunday night.

Doctors informed the investigating officer, Woman Sub-Inspector P. Indravathi of the Government Railway Police (GRP), that the cause of death was directly linked to the injuries sustained during the November assault, which had led to the fatal infection.

Based on a complaint filed by Ajay, a DCPU official from Chennai North, the railway police had initially registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Following the boy’s death, the GRP has altered the charges to include murder. A search operation to locate the two unidentified suspects is ongoing.
