UK: Indian-Origin Woman Targeted In Racially-Motivated Rape; 32-Year-Old Man John Ashby Arrested

A 20-year-old woman of Indian heritage was allegedly raped in the West Midlands region of the United Kingdom a few days ago; in an attack police believe was motivated by her racial identity.

The incident came to light on Saturday when police were called to the Park Hall area of Walsall after reports of a distressed woman sitting in the street. Authorities confirmed she had been subjected to a sexually aggravated assault. The suspect allegedly called her a “P**i Bi**h” and followed her home.

Senior officer Ronan Tyrer, who is overseeing the investigation, described the incident as an absolutely appalling attack. He stated that police are doing everything possible to arrest the person responsible.

Investigators released an image of the perpetrator from CCTV footage and are appealing to the public for assistance. Police said they had teams recovering evidence and building a profile of the attacker.

On Monday, 27 October 2025, the West Midlands Police announced a significant breakthrough with the arrest of a 32-year-old man suspected of the racially aggravated rape of a Punjabi woman in Walsall. The arrest follows intense community concern and a public appeal for information.

The suspect, described as a white man in his 30s, was apprehended in the Perry Barr area before 7 AM and is currently in custody for questioning. The attack is understood to have involved the assailant breaking into the victim’s home.

Racially Motivated Attacks Against Indians/Hindus In UK In 2025

This is not the first time in 2025 that racially motivated attack has happened against Hindus/Indians/people of Indian origin living in the UK.

Rape Of Sikh Women In Oldbury & Halesowen

This case is part of a deeply disturbing pattern of racially motivated violence against women of Indian origin in the West Midlands region. In recent months, the same police force has investigated the racially aggravated rape of a British Sikh woman in Oldbury and a separate rape in Halesowen. In the Oldbury case, several suspects were arrested but later released on bail.

Harrow Assault

Three British Hindu men were violently assaulted in a London park on 30 May 2025, in an incident now investigated as racially motivated. The victims, of Sri Lankan and Indian descent, were allegedly asked about their ethnicity before being punched and kicked, leaving two unconscious. Initially described by police as a “fight,” the case was reclassified following public outcry. A suspect was described as wearing a Moroccan football shirt. No arrests have been made, highlighting community concerns over anti-Hindu violence and police response to such hate crimes.

Milton Keynes Harassment

A group of ten Indian Hindu women were verbally and physically attacked by three young boys at Willen Lake on 15 June 2025. The assailants, aged 10-12, allegedly shouted Islamic slogans, used abusive language, and threw objects including a large log. One woman suffered a panic attack. The incident, reported by advocacy group Insight UK, has not been acknowledged by police, raising alarms about the radicalization of youth and the under-reporting of anti-Hindu hate crimes. A video of the confrontation exists, and calls have been made for official action.
