The AIADMK’s IT wing has taken a sharp jab at DMK scion and Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, criticizing his decision to return to Dubai shortly after meeting with the families of those killed in the recent stampede in Karur. In a post on their official X handle, the AIADMK questioned his priorities, asking whether his foreign trip was more important than standing by the grieving people of the state.
Udhayanidhi had reportedly traveled to Dubai with his family and was abroad when news of the Karur tragedy broke. Following the incident, he flew back to Tamil Nadu on a private aircraft, landing in Trichy around 6:00 AM. From there, he proceeded to the Karur Government Hospital, where he paid respects to the victims and met with the bereaved families. However, within a few hours, he was back at Trichy airport and boarded another private flight to return to Dubai.
The AIADMK seized the moment to launch an attack on Udhayanidhi, accusing him of treating the visit to Karur as a mere formality. In their post, they wrote, “You went to Dubai… you came back… you took a customary photoshoot in Karur… Now, Back to Dubai! And that too on a private jet… (VT-NSG) Are the people important? Or is the trip important? What is this, Deputy Chief Minister @Udhaystalin? When the whole of Tamil Nadu is in sorrow, a Deputy Chief Minister is in a trip celebrating mindset! What a curse!”
