4 Tamil Nadu Temples protected by Central Government encroached

The Central Government is maintaining 412 temples in Tamil Nadu. It is also preventing the encroachment of land belonging to these temples. Temples such as Dhenupureeswarar Temple in Madambakkam, Kancheepuram, Erumbeeswarar Temple in Trichy, are temples that are under the care of the Central Government that is also maintaining these temples.

A notice that 4 temples under their care are being encroached has come from the Central Government. In regard to this matter, an MP has raised concern about encroachment. Giving a written reply to these questions, the Ministry of Health has revealed that 1097 temples around the country are under the Central Government’s care.

Out of the 1097 temples, 412 of them are from Tamil Nadu. 4 temples under their care; Dhenupureeswarar Temple in Madambakkam, Kancheepuram, Apathsahoyeswarar Temple in Tenneri, Erumbeeswarar Swamy Temple in Trichy, and the Iravatheeswarar temple in Thanjavur district are reportedly being encroached. The Central Government has assured that notices have been sent to the encroachers and that actions are being taken to ensure that encroachment doesn’t happen.
