Following the deaths of 13 patients in a row at Chengalpattu Government Hospital, the District Collector went in person and conducted an inquiry following the complaints by patients who suspected that there may be a lack of oxygen.
The Wuhan Virus cases in the suburban areas of Chennai has been increasing especially in areas like Tambaram, Pallavaram, and Kattankulathur which fall under the Chengalpattu district. In light of this, thirteen people died in a row at the Chengalpattu Government Hospital on Tuesday, which became a cause of concern for the in-patients.
It was reported that the hospital was suffering from a lack of oxygen and that this was the reason why 13 patients died. District Collector John Louis was asked to rush to the government hospital to investigate. He however said that there was no lack of oxygen in the hospital.
He added that only one in 13 people died of coronavirus and the rest died due to other reasons. The district collector said an investigation was underway into the deaths of 13 more patients. He added that the public need not fear that the hospital is short of oxygen.
