Muslims in Pakistan have attacked a Hindu temple in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The 100-year old temple was attacked by a group of unidentified Islamists and as of now, a complaint has been registered by the police.
The incident took place ahead of the Holi festival on Saturday (27 March) at the Purana Qila area of the city. The mob damaged the main door and another door at the upper storey of the temple, as well as the staircase.

Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported that the security officer of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, Northern Zone, Syed Raza Abbas Zaidi, had lodged an FIR at Banni police station of Rawalpindi, saying the construction and renovation work on the temple had been going on for the last one month.
Already the land mafia − similar to the encroachment mafia in India, wherein they illegally occupy and encroach on temple lands − had occupied the surroundings of the temple for a long time.
Last year, the historic Hindu temple, the Krishna Dwara Mandir in Teri village of Karak district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, had been burned and razed to the ground by a Muslim mob.
Recently, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had gone on an official trip to Bangladesh, hundreds of members of hardline Islamist group Hefazat-e-Islam attacked Hindu temples and a train in eastern Bangladesh on Sunday. Violence continued to spread across the country in the wake of a two-day visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
