A Swiss couple has named their newborn daughter after an internet service provider. The name, Twifia, has been derived from the internet service provider Twifi, which has recently launched the campaign on their website promising to provide 18 years of free internet to anyone who names their child after their network. All the parents have to do is to produce a proper birth certificate with the name of the child. This is apparently a promotional strategy for its brand name.

The couple who took up this offer named their daughter after the network and said that it didn’t sound odd to them at all. “The longer I thought about it, the more unique the name became for me, and that was when the thing got its charm,” the husband said. The wife any other hand had initially been apprehensive, but then realised that this name also means eternal connection or bond.

Sadly, the couple has decided to stay anonymous as they feel the pressure of being judged for naming their child after a service provider. “We want to remain anonymous to those around us because we don’t want to justify ourselves.

The company’s owner, Philippe Fotsch, meanwhile has assured people that he will personally pay for their Wi-Fi under this campaign even if his company goes broke or shuts down.
