On 20 December 2025, Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy stated at a state-hosted Christmas celebration that Christmas was being celebrated in Telangana because of “Sonia Gandhi’s crucial role and sacrifice.”

The same Revanth Reddy who insulted Hindu Gods saying “How many gods do Hindus believe in? Are there three crore? Why do so many exist? There is one god for those who are unmarried — Hanuman. There is another god for those who marry twice. And there is yet another god for those who drink alcohol. For hen sacrifice, there is one; for dal and rice, there is one. Each group has its own god.

Against this backdrop, this report compiles seven documented instances between 2024 and 2025 in which the Telangana Congress government, under Revanth Reddy, publicly engaged with, endorsed, or extended state patronage to Christian religious institutions, organisations, and events.

#1 Revanth Reddy Attends State-Organised Christmas Celebrations at LB Stadium – 20 December 2025

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy participated in Christmas celebrations organised by the Telangana government at Lal Bahadur Stadium. Sharing photographs from the event on social media, he said the celebration reflected the teachings of Jesus Christ on love, peace, and harmony. Revanth stated that the “people’s government” respected all religions equally and prioritised interfaith harmony, adding that welfare of the poor remained its central focus.

During his speech, he attributed the freedom to celebrate Christmas in Telangana to the role and sacrifices of Sonia Gandhi, a remark that drew political attention given the event’s official, state-sponsored nature.

#2 Chief Minister Conveys Easter Greetings to Christian Community – 20 April 2025

On Easter, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy issued a message addressed specifically to the Christian community, highlighting the occasion as one that conveyed values of truth, compassion, faith, and unity.
