Panic struck among the passengers and the bus driver and conductor as a couple who were travelling in the bus received a phone call from the state health department that they tested positive for corona virus.

The couple had boarded a bus at Kadampuliyur to go to Neyveli. Within few minutes, they received a call. When the officials asked about where they were, the couple informed that they were in a bus travelling to Neyveli. The officials asked the phone be given to the bus driver. The couple gave the phone to the conductor who was informed about the couple testing positive for the virus. He was told to stop the bus immediately and drop the couple then and there and assured that an ambulance would pick them up from the spot.

As the conductor informed the couple and brought the bus to a halt, panic stricken passengers tried to flee the bus through the other door. The conductor who had received the phone from the couple was also sweating with fear. The bus driver immediately drove to the Vadalur workshop where the bus was disinfected thoroughly. The other passengers have been asked to quarantine themselves.

It is important that those who undergo testing for corona to quarantine themselves till results come. However, despite repeated advisories and warnings from the government people keep flouting norms thereby increasing the spread.
