VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan has come under controversy following a series of public remarks concerning an alleged assault of a motorist whose vehicle had been rammed into allegedly by Thirumavalavan’s car near the Madras High Court a few days ago.

At an event near Thirukazhukundram, Thirumavalavan recounted that a man had blocked his vehicle and that some of his party volunteers reportedly beat the individual multiple times. He also stated, “We don’t know who he is or what caste or religion he belongs to. The escort police asked him to move aside, that’s all. He stared at the police. When the others asked him to move aside since the party leader is in the vehicle, he stared again. He got beaten up because he stared and not because they knew which caste he belonged to. Are you so arrogant and self-conceited? So, they beat him up because he arrogantly stared. They gave him 4 knocks, did not even beat him up well. (crowd cheers). That man pretends to have fainted and has chest pain. What a drama. “

However, in a more recent video from an event at Chennai’s Muthamizh Mandram, Thirumavalavan claimed that news reports claim his cadre beat the motorist up mercilessly and that he was in grave danger and lying in a hospital for 15 days, which he dismissed as “drama.” He added, “In order to expose this drama, I said, they knocked him 4 times, they didn’t even beat him properly. But he is lying in the hospital. This was what I said.”

The remarks made by Thirumavalavan prompted the court to order an inquiry into whether his statements had incited the assault.

Later, at another function at the Chennai Muthamizh Mandram, Thirumavalavan changed his stance, saying he learned about the incident only after watching the TV news. He claimed, “My car did not even stop for 20 seconds, no one rolled down the windows, and no one got out of the vehicle — the crowd gathered and ran, and we drove off without involvement. I only learned that such an incident happened after watching the video released by that private television channel.”

He insisted he only became aware of the assault after seeing it on television, though footage showed the event happened at 2:34PM, and by 2:39 PM, a private channel Polimer News had uploaded the video online. He said, “That private TV channel was the first to telecast and spread the story that Thiruma’s car hit the bike. That’s the first spark for the problem, and within minutes of that, the video is uploaded to their website. The incident seems to have happened at 2:34 PM. At 2:39 PM, the television station’s digital site went live and updated it.”

Critics accused him of lying again, since the footage had surfaced almost instantly after the altercation.

Thiruma alleged, “No one has yet asked who took the video from the front. How did he know this was going to happen?”

List Of Thiruma’s Lies & U-Turns

10 years ago, at a public meeting in Pulianthope, Thirumavalavan said he had said that most of the temples were Buddhist viharas, and that the news was that Thirumavalavan was saying to demolish Shiva temples. These are the pearls that Thirumavalavan opened his mouth and spilled that day.

What Thirumavalavan said back then – “There is no evidence that Rama was born at that place. It is inappropriate for us to ask for proof because if Rama was born, they could have shown it. There is no way to do that since he is an imaginary character. Even so, history is only 2000 years old. They say he was born about 50,000 years ago. If you look at it that way, all the places where Shiva temples and Perumal temples are today, were Buddhist viharas. You are building Shiva temples only after demolishing Buddhist viharas and razing them to the ground. You are building Perumal temples. Therefore, you should demolish all that and raze it to the ground and build Buddhist viharas in those places.”

What Thirumavalavan claimed he said – “You are saying that Ram was born in that place and they demolished the Ram temple and built the Babri facility. It may have been there 400 years ago. We are not arguing that it was not there. It may have been there. Should we demolish this and build a temple there? If we go and examine every Perumal temple and Shiva temple, studies show that there were Buddhist viharas in all the places where there were Shiva temples and Perumal temples. What will happen if we start demolishing Shiva temples and Perumal temples because there were Buddhist viharas in these places? I was talking in the sense that why can’t we build a Ram temple next to a mosque.”

On Manusmriti & Women

What Thiruma said then, “Manusmritis are against equality, against social justice, and especially against women. Chastity is a doctrine that was invented to oppress women. The doctrine of chastity is the very thing that creates the antithesis of adultery. Sanatanam suppressed women based on these two ideas. If she wanted to be chaste, she would have been forced to marry at the age of eight and then at the age of six.”

What Thiruma claims he said – “They are saying that all women, including Brahmin women, are considered to be Sudra caste and that all women are not trustworthy, that is, they come to their husbands and others in other troubles, that they are not trustworthy, that they can come at any time and make mistakes, and so on. This is what Manusmriti is saying, now it is degrading the entire female race. That is one interpretation.”

But a closer look at Gandhi’s statements reveals a disturbing pattern: instead of presenting evidence, the Congress chief is attempting to erode public trust in the very institutions that uphold Indian democracy. Gandhi himself admitted that the strategy behind these allegations is to “challenge the integrity of India’s electoral system by building public pressure.” In other words, the purpose is not to correct flaws, but to manufacture doubt and cover for the party’s own electoral failures.

Gandhi has offered no verifiable proof that vote manipulation occurred on a scale large enough to influence results. While he provided “sample evidence” from Karnataka and Maharashtra regarding deleted or duplicate voters and bulk registrations, independent verification by the Financial Times was impossible. His claims remain anecdotal, selective, and politically convenient.

This tactic is particularly striking given the Congress party’s recent track record. Under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, the party has suffered repeated electoral defeats, losing around 90 elections in recent years. Instead of introspection or strategic reform, Gandhi appears intent on blaming India’s electoral machinery and Prime Minister Modi. By attacking the credibility of the Election Commission, he is effectively asking the public to distrust the democratic process itself.

Analysts have noted that Gandhi’s focus on Bihar’s upcoming state elections is a clear attempt to influence voters through fear and suspicion. By casting doubt on the impartiality of the ECI, Gandhi is attempting to pre-emptively delegitimise any potential losses, while presenting himself as a martyr fighting a “rigged system.”

India’s democracy is the world’s largest and one of the most robust, has mechanisms in place to ensure transparency and fairness. Allegations of voting irregularities have long existed across parties and elections – why, even Congress has a very long history of such vote chori, yet historically, political rivals have accepted results and participated in democratic processes. Gandhi’s strategy breaks with this tradition, undermining trust in an institution that is central to India’s democratic fabric.

In short, Rahul Gandhi’s recent statements are less about electoral integrity and more about political expediency. By creating a narrative of rigged elections without evidence, he seeks to shift attention away from Congress’ failures and weaken public faith in the democratic process. This is a dangerous precedent: when opposition leaders encourage distrust in foundational institutions, the damage is not limited to partisan politics, it erodes the very legitimacy of India’s democracy.

The Dharmasthala “mass burial” claims crumbled in a matter of weeks as the ‘whistleblower’ and the lady whose alleged daughter went allegedly missing years ago in the holy town confessed that what they had said was a lie.

While the likes of The News Minute tried to push the propaganda to a level, they were ably aided by a group of YouTubers in the Tamil media space.

Several of them had begun by talking about the Sowjanya murder case back in March/April 2025.

Following this most of them received gag orders from the court that prevented them from peddling lies against the revered Hindu institution – Dharmasthala.

Despite this, there were many who kept pushing conspiracy theories and all kinds of concoctions that were alienish in concept – it was very clear that what was being said was purely to generate views and confuse the viewer. Let us take a look at a few such YouTubers who aided in keeping the lie afloat.

Maayam Studios – Karthik Maayakumar

With a blatant disregard for factual accuracy and verification, Karthik, the host, repeatedly builds entire videos around unconfirmed rumors, graphic allegations, and speculative theories, often presenting them as breaking news. He frequently admits that key claims such as the discovery of human remains lack official confirmation, yet he dedicates significant airtime to detailing them. This “report first, verify later” approach prioritizes sensationalism over truth, misleading viewers and spreading unverified information that can cause public panic, harm reputations, and distress families of missing persons.

Furthermore, the content actively interferes with serious criminal investigations. By disclosing specific, unverified details and speculative narratives, he is prejudicing public opinion. He also exploits emotional and sensitive topics for engagement and monetization. He manipulatively focuses on the anguish of grieving families, uses horror-movie language, and juxtaposes tragic themes with jarring advertisements. This not only trivializes human suffering but also commercializes tragedy, reducing serious allegations to clickbait fodder.

Another major issue with these videos is the politicization and polarization of the issues. He frames the entire issue as a political battle, amplifying partisan accusations without providing balanced reporting. He also violates ethical and legal boundaries, including potential contempt of court by discussing topics covered by gag orders and engaging in defamatory speculation about individuals. His rhetoric encourages distrust of authorities and subtly promotes vigilante sentiments, which can have dangerous real-world consequences. Here is a look at how many videos he has posted on the issue and the clickbait cover pictures and headlines:

Nakkheeran & Damodaran Prakash

Nakkheeran and Damodaran Prakash have severely maligned the Dharmasthala institution by presenting unverified, graphic allegations as established facts. They sensationalized claims of mass murders, sexual violence, and institutional cover-ups without providing credible evidence or official corroboration. By naming specific individuals, including temple administrators and political figures, they engaged in defamatory storytelling that pre-judges guilt and undermines due process.

Their use of horrific, detailed narratives including unverified stories of acid attacks, child victims, and organ theft, exploiting emotional triggers to provoke public outrage. This irresponsible framing not only damages the reputation of the temple and its associated individuals but also risks inciting communal tension and vigilante action. Their content disregards journalistic ethics, judicial boundaries, and the basic necessity of verification, substituting truth with conspiracy-driven entertainment.

Jeeva Today

Jeeva Today posted only one video but it was damaging enough. He once again made unsubstantiated accusations like the other YouTubers. The channel repeatedly presented the whistleblower’s claims as verified truth, weaving together decades-old unrelated cases to construct a false narrative of systematic abuse and murder linked to the temple. Using graphic language, clickbait titles, and exaggerated victim counts, Jeeva amplified baseless theories of a high-level cover-up involving police, politicians, and the judiciary. The channel’s reliance on speculative storytelling over factual reporting eroded public trust in institutions and prejudiced ongoing investigations. By framing the temple administration as guilty without evidence, Jeeva not only maligned a respected religious institution but also endangered the possibility of a fair legal process.

P.S: It has been brought to our notice that Jeeva Today posted several videos making unsubstantiated allegations about the temple administration.

Roots Tamil

Roots Tamil contributed to the defamation of Dharmasthala by politicizing the allegations and spreading unverified claims under the guise of political commentary. The channel hosted discussions that framed the issue as a partisan battle, accusing BJP and RSS leaders of orchestrating a conspiracy without providing proof. It By blurring the lines between allegation and fact, Roots Tamil reinforced a toxic narrative that the temple and political entities were complicit in horrific crimes. This approach not only damaged the institution’s standing but also polarized public discourse and undermined the integrity of the investigation.

Edison Vlogs

Edison Vlogs engaged in reckless sensationalism by portraying themselves as heroic investigators uncovering a “D-Gang” operating within Dharmasthala.

While the channel posted only 2 videos, including an “interview of a key witness, he presented unverified claims of hundreds of murders and burials as fact, using dramatic visuals, speculative narration, and emotionally charged language to heighten fear and anger. By detailing alleged secret investigations, naming locations, and speculating about victim counts, Edison Vlogs not only spread misinformation but also jeopardized the safety of sources and the integrity of the official probe. The channel’s self-aggrandizing style and conspiracy-laden content misled viewers, eroded trust in lawful institutions, and caused significant reputational harm to the temple and its community.

News I Tamil

News I Tamil exacerbated the damage through highly inflammatory and unsubstantiated reporting, claiming thousands of murders and a systematic cover-up at Dharmasthala. The channel relied on anonymous sources, manipulated emotional anecdotes, and presented speculative numbers like 4,000 or 9,000 victims without any factual basis. By directly accusing temple authorities and political figures of involvement in rape and murder, and by mixing in communal elements such as targeting Brahmin women, the channel fueled social hostility and distrust. Its disregard for judicial gag orders, sensationalized storytelling, and monetization of tragedy demonstrated a clear abandonment of journalistic ethics, further harming the institution’s reputation and public trust.

Yoot Evidence

The Yoot Evidence channel’s videos were also indulging in blurring the line between allegation and verified fact. The core failure lies in its treatment of the whistleblower’s claims – graphic, unverified accounts of hundreds of burials, torture, and sexual violence – as established truth. By narrating these horrific details without forensic or legal corroboration, the video primes viewers to accept these allegations as undeniable reality, pre-judging the case and undermining the principle of ‘innocent until proven guilty’.

Furthermore, the videos construct a vast conspiracy narrative by guilt-by-association, linking the current allegations to decades-old, unrelated missing persons cases without any forensic connection. This bundling of tragedies creates a false impression of a long-running, systemic conspiracy. This is compounded by the use of inflated, un-sourced numbers (“hundreds of bodies,” “400-500 missing women”), which magnify the scale of the alleged crimes without evidence.

Despite acknowledging a court gag order, the video strategically implies the involvement of the temple administration and political networks through leading questions and suggestive framing, creating a perception of a cover-up while technically avoiding direct naming. This feigned neutrality masks a clear accusatory stance.

One of the poorest videos in terms of information – the YouTuber doesn’t even know that the place in question is Dharmasthala and not Dharmashala. We bet he doesn’t know where the latter is located.

He pushes the unverified facts as established facts, without providing a single piece of credible evidence. This baseless narrative is designed purely to provoke outrage and fear. He repeatedly undermines India’s democratic institutions, pre-judging the investigation and judiciary by declaring a cover-up before it has even concluded. This erodes public trust in law enforcement and the courts. Furthermore, the commentary escalates into incitement by openly calling for violent vigilantism, wishing for a “dictator for a day” to execute the accused, thus explicitly rejecting the rule of law and due process. The content is saturated with harmful conspiracy theories, including baseless claims of government censorship and international espionage, and promotes a generalized distrust of all religious institutions.

Saravanan Decodes

The videos from “Saravanan Decodes” represent a severe and dangerous escalation in the irresponsible coverage of the Dharmasthala case. Saravanan openly defies legal authority by knowingly violating a court-issued gag order, first attempting to circumvent it and then misleadingly claiming it was “removed” to justify publishing highly prejudicial content. The content itself is egregiously sensationalist, employing graphic, horror-movie-style descriptions of unverified sexual violence and murder purely for shock value and emotional manipulation. He completely abandons any pretense of journalistic impartiality by presenting the whistleblower’s allegations as undeniable fact, conducting a full “trial by media” and directly implicating the temple administration and specific individuals in monstrous crimes without evidence.

Furthermore, the videos weave decades of unrelated cases into a vast, unverified conspiracy theory involving organ theft, murder, and a complete systemic cover-up by police, investigators, and even the judiciary. This narrative is designed to poison public opinion, incite outrage against the accused, and irrevocably undermine trust in all state institutions.

Paari Saalan

The Paari Saalan interview with Varun, while posing as a thoughtful discussion, blurs historical facts, religious rules, and unverified allegations into a single, misleading narrative. It uncritically amplifies the whistleblower’s grave claims of mass burials and sexual violence, presenting them as plausible truth despite the lack of forensic or judicial verification. Furthermore, Paari Saalan irresponsibly links decades-old, unrelated missing persons cases to the temple administration, implying a long-running conspiracy without any evidence.

They directly accuse the Dharmadhikari family of suppressing crimes and wielding excessive power, blending historical context with speculative allegations. By emphasizing the temple’s Jain origins and its shift towards Hinduism, the narrative injects a communal undertone, framing the issue as one of religious and financial dominance rather than focusing on factual inquiry.

Sha Boo Three

RJ Sha’s content often conflates unrelated historical cases, such as the Saujanya (2012) and Padmalatha (1986) incidents, weaving them into an unverified grand conspiracy tied to the temple administration. This not only misleads viewers but also prejudices public perception against the institution. The channel also misrepresents legal processes, criticizing gag orders as suppression of free speech rather than necessary judicial measures to ensure a fair investigation. Furthermore, the videos risk inciting communal and regional tensions by framing the issue in divisive terms, such as highlighting the whistleblower’s ethnic identity or suggesting broad-based corruption across all government and media institutions.

Overall, the entire set of YouTubers in Tamil Nadu, used the unverified claims made by the masked man as gospel truth, tarnished the image of Hindu institutions, made outlandish claims – be it the “gory details”, the numbers of allegedly dead/missing women, and what not. These videos were made purely for driving engagement and monetization.

Several other prominent Tamil YouTubers such as Madan Gowri, Bogan, etc had been posting videos on the Sowjanya murder case and connecting it to the Dharmadhikaris of Dharmasthala. Owing to court orders, the videos were removed, yet some still remain.

Despite the court orders, these videos in Tamil Nadu have been peddling the anti-Hindu Dravidianist narrative and portraying all Hindu institutions as evil and dangerous.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been making dramatic accusations after accusations of voter fraud and “vote theft/vote chori” against the Election Commission of India (ECI). All those claims fell apart within a few hours as multiple claims he presented were challenged by verified information and on-ground investigations.

In such a situation, Lokniti-CSDS Co-director Sanjay Kumar has apologised after posting erroneous data regarding the Maharashtra Lok Sabha and Assembly elections on social media, two days after his tweets sparked controversy.

On 17 August 2025, Sanjay Kumar posted explosive figures suggesting a 38% drop in voters in Maharashtra’s Ramtek and Devlali constituencies between the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

• Ramtek (AC 59): Alleged decrease of 1,79,272 voters (-38.45%)
• Devlali (AC 126): Alleged decrease of 1,67,931 voters (-36.82%)

The tweets drew attention as opposition parties, particularly the I.N.D.I. Alliance, have been alleging large-scale voter discrepancies in Maharashtra. Social media users accused Kumar of furthering these claims with unverified numbers.

Following fact-checks that disproved the figures, Kumar deleted the posts and issued an apology on 19 August 2025. In a statement on his X handle, he wrote: “I sincerely apologize for the tweets posted regarding Maharashtra elections. Error occurred while comparing data of 2024 LS and 2024 AS. The data in row was misread by our Data team. The tweet has since been removed. I had no intention of dispersing any form of misinformation.”

Critics online alleged that the episode was part of a larger attempt to undermine the Election Commission by circulating unverified data. Some pointed to Kumar’s past election analyses, accusing him of bias against the Bharatiya Janata Party.

This isn’t the first time Ranting Gola has stirred up controversy through her content. Her pattern is familiar: sensational videos, fact-free rants, Hinduphobic overtones, and eventual backtracking.

Fake Waqf Amendment Video

Recently, she falsely claimed that the Waqf (Amendment) Bill would strip Indian Muslims of the right to bury their dead. To support this, she shared an unrelated eight-year-old video from 2017 — a local protest over an unrelated land issue — and framed it as proof of government oppression.

In truth, the Waqf Amendment is an administrative reform related to property management and has nothing to do with burial rights. Her video was slammed by legal experts and religious leaders alike as an attempt to stir panic among Muslims and defame the Indian government.

Scripted Trial Recording – Failed Attack On Abu Asim Azmi

In 2024, she came under fire for a video attacking Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Asim Azmi, accusing him of misgovernance in Govandi. When backlash erupted, she claimed the video was merely a “scripted trial recording” that was “leaked” by mistake — an excuse that only deepened skepticism around her motives.

In recent years, the DMK-led government in Tamil Nadu has repeatedly accused the Central Government, particularly under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, of financial discrimination. These claims, often echoed in political speeches and media narratives, suggest that Tamil Nadu is being short-changed—receiving only a fraction of what it contributes to the nation’s tax pool, and being denied its fair share of developmental funds. However, a closer look at data spanning the UPA and NDA regimes reveals a very different picture. This report, backed by research and analysis from JVC Sreeram, aims to dismantle the misinformation propagated by the DMK using verifiable figures, inflation-adjusted comparisons, and fiscal realities. The objective is simple: to let facts, not political rhetoric, guide public understanding. Let’s delve deeper into the lies and facts.

DMK’s Lie No 1

Central Government gives only 30 paisa for every 1 rupee collected as taxes from the state of Tamil Nadu and injustice is committed is another infamous fake narrative by DMK.

Fact

Shri Narendra Modi’s NDA Government provided Rupees 5,08,337 crores to Tamil Nadu as Devolution and Grant-In-Aid apart from providing Rupees 1,43,000 crores for Infrastructure Development from 2014 to 2024.

Under Shri Manmohan Singh’s UPA’s Government from 2004 to 2014 the state of Tamil Nadu received Rupees 1,52,091 crores. It is pertinent to note that DMK was part of UPA Ministry and a Minister of State of Finance was a DMK MP and it is also important to note that during the 10 years of UPA regime Shri. P. Chidambaram who was MP from Sivaganga was the Union Finance Minister for a period of 6 years.

DMK’s Lie No 2

Modi Led NDA Government in the Centre, collects taxes from TN and distributes it to other Bimaru states.

Fact

The Direct Tax collections from the state of Tamil Nadu during the UPA regime of 10 years from 2004 to 2014 was approximately Rupees 2,10,000 crores of which 72.42% was given back to the state by the Central Government which amounts to Rupees 1,52,091 crores.

Approximate Direct Tax collections from the state of Tamil Nadu during the NDA regime from 2014 to 2024 was Rupees 7,63,000 crores and the Central Government led by Shri Narendra Modi ensured that the state received 85.36% in the form of Devolution, Grants-In-Aid and Infrastructure funds totaling to Rupees 6,51,337 crores.

Hence this fake narrative of DMK is also busted through facts, data and figures.

DMK’s Lie No 3

Someone should tell BJP that there is a concept of Inflation and hence there is a jump in the funds provided by the Central Government.

Fact

The cumulative inflation during the period of 2014 and 2024 in India was 74.23% but the increase in Devolution and Grant-In-Aid provided during the same time saw a jump of 232.3% (this is 3.35 times more than what the state received under UPA regime) and if we include the Funds for Infrastructure Development then the jump in fund allocation to Tamil Nadu shoots up to 328.2% (this is 4.3 times more than what the state received under UPA regime.

Taking the argument further the cumulative inflation, which prevailed during the 10 years of UPA regime was a whopping 115%. Hence the increase of fund allocation has nothing to do with Inflation and there is proper justice in allocating resources to the state of Tamil Nadu.

The very fact that Tax collections have grown up by over 3.6 times in the period of 2014 to 2024 compared to 2004 to 2014 and also the fact that Inflation has been cumulative inflation of the period of 10 years of Modi Government has been controlled and brought down from an alarming 115% to that of a reasonable and acceptable 74.23% is the testimony to the fact that economy has been handled in a far more prudent manner in spite of a once in a century Global Pandemic attacking the world. Considering all these things the DMK Government should be happy about the economic progress that India is making and the center is supporting the state of Tamil Nadu in the best possible manner and should not be cribbing and complaining all the time.

The narrative pushed by the DMK alleging financial injustice by the Central Government fails to hold up under scrutiny. From 2014 to 2024, Tamil Nadu has received a significantly higher share of funds compared to the UPA decade, with an increase of over 328% when infrastructure allocations are included. Not only has the Modi-led NDA government returned a higher percentage of Tamil Nadu’s tax contributions, but it has also done so while maintaining lower inflation and steering the country through major global disruptions like the COVID-19 pandemic. Far from being short-changed, Tamil Nadu has been a major beneficiary of central support. It is time to move beyond politically motivated claims and acknowledge the substantial fiscal backing provided by the Centre—support that reflects fairness, growth, and national responsibility.

A controversial clip from MediaOne, a Malayalam news channel, is making rounds on social media, raising serious concerns about the blatant spread of misinformation. In the video, an anchor claims that AI-generated obscene images of Muslim women with Hindu men are being circulated online as part of an alleged anti-Muslim propaganda campaign. He said, “We are getting reports that obscene pictures of women made with AI are being propagated through social media. In those, pictures of Muslim women wearing purdah and hijab with Hindu men are being propagated. In response to this news we received, an activist told us that this is not to be seen just as a troll, it is anti-Muslim propaganda. It is also done to scare Muslim women. How do you see this Ajims?”

However, it is the shocking response from a panelist named Ajims that has sparked outrage. Ajims goes on to make an incendiary and unverified claim, stating,  “We can see this as a form of rape. Rape is used as a tool in wars. In India, rape is a tool of the RSS, like their Trishul or their big sword, rape is also a tool of the RSS, that to rape like that is not wrong. This has been said by their intellectuals. They shared this as a secret communication to rioters to rape. What they are doing now is through these pages (on social media/Facebook) which have more than 10,000 followers, they are spreading these rape comments and pictures. Those reading, seeing, those exposed to this content, even if they are very independent individuals, they feel that if there is a riot tomorrow, they should raise their (the youth) mental state to rape and kill people.”

These inflammatory remarks, presented without a shred of evidence, amount to a baseless and defamatory attack on the RSS and Hindus at large.

MediaOne’s Troubling History

This is not the first time MediaOne has found itself in controversy. In February 2022, the Central government banned the channel citing national security concerns. Though the Kerala High Court briefly stayed the ban, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had previously denied the channel’s security clearance, citing undisclosed threats. In 2020, the channel was suspended for 48 hours over its allegedly biased coverage of the Delhi riots, along with Asianet News.

Despite its track record of pushing questionable narratives, MediaOne has once again crossed ethical boundaries by airing unsubstantiated claims that have the potential to incite communal discord. The broadcast’s attempt to equate the RSS with war crimes and organized sexual violence is not only factually baseless but also dangerously provocative.

A Calculated Attempt to Incite Hatred?

The outrageous assertion that rape is an ideological tool of the RSS is a calculated attempt to malign Hindus, demonize a nationalist organization, and deepen communal tensions. Where is the evidence? What facts back up these grave accusations? MediaOne’s failure to substantiate such inflammatory remarks exposes its agenda of propagating fear and division.

This kind of reckless reporting cannot be brushed aside as mere opinion—it is an orchestrated assault on truth and harmony. Misinformation of this scale, if left unchecked, can stoke real-world violence and unrest. The concerned authorities must take stringent action against such irresponsible journalism and hold MediaOne accountable for its role in spreading communal falsehoods.

However, a video swiftly surfaced, exposing Dharanidharan clapping from the crowd during a discussion, not as a speaker. The blatant dishonesty triggered waves of mockery from netizens, who quickly called out his attempt to shift the blame.

Not wanting to feel left out, DMK spokesperson Salem Dharanidharan, known for peddling fake news, claimed that he had “Been there, done that years ago“ and shared a picture from Oxford University.

In the picture, he seems to be seated in the audience listening to a panel discussion. But from his post, it seems that Dharanidharan claimed to have been a speaker himself at Oxford. 

In reality, this picture was from a discussion titled, “Campaigning for the future: smaller parties, women and minority candidates”, that took place 5 years ago in the same location.

Netizens questioned why he was in the audience seating rather than with the panel. Dharanidharan replied that it was their own assumption.

Boat – a 1940s Dravidian propaganda stage play, masquerading as a Tamil feature film. Here is a thread that reviews this film with a clear agenda.

On 11 October 1943, Japanese warplanes bombed the Madras presidency in a nighttime raid. Fearing another attack, 9 random people get on a boat to secure themselves in mid-ocean, with one uninvited British guest who joins them later, with a gun. ‘Did they all survive?’ is the plot.

The 9 characters stuck on a boat are carefully chosen to represent a Mini-India.

The fisherman & his grandma help onboard a pregnant Telugu woman and her sick son, a Sait, a regular Muslim, a regular Hindu, and the usual villains of Tamil cinema – a casteist Tamil Brahmin uncle and his daughter.

They have chosen an innocent, hardworking, good fisherman – who confronts a blatant casteist uncle who justifies the non-entry of the downtrodden into the temples.

This character is basically a punching bag – his bigotry is contrasted with goodness from other sensible characters. If evil casteist Tamil Brahmins are the bigoted villains, then according to Tamil cinema, who is the brave savior of Tamils? EVR, of course.

Curd rice-eating casteist uncle is the supervillain who is defeated by a superhero – atheist EVR who reformed us – this is textbook Dravidianist propaganda.

There’s a clear motive in the characterization – they wantonly depict this despicable Tamil Brahmin character as someone who praises a Britisher and takes his side.

This is Goebell-level reinforcement of the Dravidianist agenda – to villainize and gaslight a community in all ways possible.

In reality – Tamil Brahmins were at the forefront of the Indian independence movement, even as EVR called 15 August 1947 a black day.

Karma theory – a belief by Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists alike – is derided as something that applies only to those who think they are superior.

In reality, Karma theory is a native belief in causality that is a rough explanation for human suffering. Abrahamic faiths offer no better explanation for why suffering and blessings are so unevenly distributed – if the One God was so fair.

Seeing the film’s opening image and who is being thanked might help put the pieces together – why is the Indic native belief system in Karma derided in this film?

No other character/community is villainized the way the Tamil Brahmin character is. The Muslim is a peaceful person who offers namaz even in a boat and couldn’t even tolerate that he killed a rat by mistake, in anger.

The film seeks to consolidate its Dravidianist in-group against the Aryan outgroups. It kept a fully muted/censored scene with this dialogue where the casteist uncle says at gunpoint: “That freedom fighting guy is not from my comm. Bharathi is Iyer, We are Iyengar, we are not the same.” Would any sensible Dravidianist associate themselves with such a despicable Aryan group? – is the subconscious messaging. But wait – not all Aryans are to be hated.

The fisherman and the casteist uncle’s daughter develop mild feelings for each other. This girl does not see inequality and falls head over heels with the fisherman’s strength and his way of life. She even sings a Carnatic song with North Madras phrases to prove this. Aryan males are the enemies of D, but not the females. Could not have summarized the ideology better.

The channel claimed that the crowd chanted “Abki Baar Chocobar” instead of Abki Baar Chaar Sow Paar.

It is pretty clear in the video that the people were chanting Abki Baar 400 Paar and not as Sun News had claimed.
