The Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for the construction of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya was conducted yesterday (August 5) with Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding and performing the Bhoomi Poojan amidst the chant of Vedas.

While a few who could not stomach the construction of the Ram Temple at Ram Janmabhoomi fumed through op-eds and articles, many leaders across political parties and religions wished well for the Bhoomi Poojan.

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi took to their social media to express their wishes for the construction of the temple.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Congress General Secretary organized a Hanuman Chalisa chanting session and donated silver bricks to the temple.

In Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami too extended his congratulations on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu for the Bhoomi Poojan event.

Even Khushbu Sundar belonging to the Tamil Nadu Congress extended her wishes and went one step ahead by saying “Bolo Siya Ramchandra ji Jai”.

As expected, the DMK and its allies VCK and Communist parties had a meltdown as the foundation stone was laid for the temple. They had trended #TamilPrideRaavanaa and #LandOfRavana without realizing that the hero they were celebrating was a north Indian Brahmin.

On the other hand, popular stars of Tamil cinema – Kamal Hasan, Vijay, Surya, Karthi, who otherwise resort to virtue signalling by commenting on issues that they have no expertise on, have kept mum. While it was expected that Kamal Hasan would speak against the construction of the temple to appease Muslims, he hasn’t said anything so far.

However, one man’s silence has raised eyebrows. The man who has promised to usher in ‘spiritual politics’ in Tamil Nadu as an alternative to the Dravidian politics has not said anything on the occasion of Bhoomi Pookan. Rajinikanth, had earlier condemned the abuse of Hindu God Murugan and Kandha Sashti Kavasam through a tweet, several days after widespread public outrage against Karuppar Koottam, that led to the trending of the hashtag #கந்தனுக்கு அரோகரா (Victory be to Lord Muruga!)

His silence has puzzled both his fans and political observers. Probably, Rajini is gauging the mood of the Tamil populace so that he could play it safe.

AltNews, a propaganda vehicle masquerading as fact-check website failed miserably yet again for wrongly “fact-checking”. This ‘Tablighis apologist’ website is known for branding media that do not confirm to its ideology as ‘fake news’. Sometimes, they fall into their own trap and end up getting schooled by actual experts. At other times, their ‘fake news busting’ attempts themselves end up as fake news.

In a recent article, it had tried to debunk an image of Lord Ram getting displayed on Times Square billboards that was getting widely shared as false.

It had put to use such amazing investigative skills that would make Ethan Hunt and James Bond envious.

This is how they deconstructed the truth behind the image:

Pictures of Hindu deity Ram were photoshopped into the original picture and subsequently flipped horizontally. The similarities are pointed out below.

    1. Green billboard on top of a white building (highlighted in red).
    2. Corona beer billboard close to the green billboard (highlighted in yellow).
    3. An identical number of cabs in the front most row on each side of the street (highlighted in green and orange).
    4. A picture of Ram has been superimposed on a poster of the musical Wicked(marked in blue). A portion of the green poster can be spotted behind Ram’s image.

Furthermore, a keyword search “times square billboard generator” on Google leads to makesweet.com where a temple of the same image is available.

Thus, a picture showing images of Hindu deity Ram splashed all over New York’s Times Square billboards was manufactured then flipped horizontally to escape reverse-image search attempts.

Many on social media shared the image thinking that it was original. It would have been good had AltNews stopped there. However, AltNews for its ‘fake news busting’ purposes pulled up a Tamil online news portal in an unwarranted manner.

In the days leading up to the Ram Janmabhoomi Bhoomi Poojan event, media reports emerged that images of Lord Ram and the Ram Mandir would be displayed on the billboards in Times Square in New York to commemorate the Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan.

Excited by the news, these media houses carried a feature image (a representative image) of Lord Ram being shown on the billboards of Times Square.

Kathir News, a prominent Tamil news outlet identified as ‘right wing portal’ too carried an article about the news with a representative feature image. It was conspicuous that the feature image in the portal was not an actual picture but a representative one. The headline of the article in Tamil – டைம்ஸ் ஸ்கொயரில் ஸ்ரீ ராமர் – பூமி பூஜை அன்று ஒலிக்க இருக்கும் ‘ஜெய் ஸ்ரீராம்’ கோஷங்கள்.! (Shri Ram in Times Square – Jai Shriram slogans to be played on Bhoomi Poojan day) too made it obvious that it is nothing but a representative image.

But in order to satiate its itch to defame news portals that does not confirm to its values, it went on say that the Kathir News carried a fake image in order to brand it as a ‘fake news’ portal.

However, AltNews became a laughing stock when images of Lord Ram and the Ram Mandir beamed on the billboards of Times Square.

Kathir News has strongly condemned AltNews’ nefarious attempts to slander it and has asked for a public apology.

Speaking at the Ram Temple Bhoomi Poojan event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi quoted the Kamba Ramayana written by Tamil Hindu poet Kambar. He said that Ramayana exists in many languages and people across the world read about the story of Lord Ram. He enlisted the various Ramayanas existing in different languages written by different poets saying that it reflected the unity in diversity of India.

“In Tamil, we have the Kamba Ramayana while in Telugu we have the Raghunath and Ranganath Ramayana.”, Prime Minister Modi said.

He said that many countries trace their legacy or affiliate themselves in Lord Rama.

“Indonesia is the country that has the maximum number of muslims in the world. They are having various unique versions of Ramayana i.e. ‘Kakawin Ramayana’, ‘Swarnadeep Ramayana’, ‘Yogeshwar Ramayana’ just like our country. Lord Rama is venerated & adored there even today.”

Later in his speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi quoted a verse from Kamba Ramayana.

“காலம் தாழ் ஈண்டு இனும் இருத்தி போலான்”

“Kaalam Thaazh Eendu Inum Irundhi Polan” meaning “we need not delay, we need to move ahead”, emphasizing that Lord Rama has the same message for today’s India and all of us.

“I am sure we will move ahead, our country will move ahead. This temple of Lord Rama will continue to inspire and guide humankind/ humanity for years to come”, Prime Minister Modi said.

Many parts of Kerala faced power cuts as the ground breaking ceremony for the grand Ram Temple at Ram Janmabhoomi was telecast live.

Many on Twittter complained of facing power cuts and expressed disappointment about not being able to view the foundation stone laying ceremony at the Ram Janmabhoomi.

All India Convenor of Prajna Pravah J Nandakumar alleged that the it was an attempt by the Communist government in Kerala to deny the right of Keralites to watch the Bhoomi Poojan event.

Many others too expressed outrage over the Kerala government alleging that they had resorted to unannounced powercuts in a deliberate attempt to prevent people from watching the event at Ram Janmabhoomi.

People from West Bengal too complained of powercuts while the Bhoomi Poojan was underway. In one of the videos, it was alleged that the saffron flags that were kept outside to commemorate the event was taken down by one person. However, the authenticity of this video has not been verified.

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi laying the foundation stone for the grand temple for Lord Ram, self-proclaimed ‘liberals’ and ‘seculars’, Hindu hating radical Islamists (not all Muslims), and the peculiar species that calls themselves as “Periyarists” have been upset over the Hindus getting back what is rightfully theirs after centuries long struggle.

While some like Ramachandra Guha have kept mum so far on the Ayodhya ground breaking ceremony (so far) by tweeting about the one year completion of abrogation of Article 370, other rabid elements like Rana Ayub and Ashok Swain went about with their usual Hinduphobia.

This is what the closet jihadi masquerading as journalist tweeted:

In her article Rana Ayub said that the inauguration of the Ram temple is meant to allay the Indian middle class and the poor who have suffered from the lockdown and its economic impact.

She went on to call August 5 as “another day in the continuing erasure of India’s syncretic culture, another day of blood and soil in India, with a Modi emboldened by the world’s inaction.”

She also tweeted “our collective shame” as the Bhoomi Poojan started.

Ashok Swine.. sorry Ashok Swain, another closet jihadi normalized the destruction of temples and Hindu kingdoms by Islamic invaders saying that building a temple does not make a nation stronger and went on to add that not only these temples vanished but their kingdoms were gone too.

https://twitter.com/ashoswai/status/1290912959397535745

Vidya Krishnan, journalist who writes for The Hindu, The Atlantic, and The Caravan magazine went on to call it a day of mourning as billions of Hindus celebrated. She hid behind the “As a Hindu, I am ashamed” to get acknowledged as the ‘secular Indian’.

AIMIM Chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi called it as a day of defeat of democracy and secularism and success of Hindutva

The motor mouth lawyer who is considered as a nuisance by the Supreme Court itself tweeted this:

And, this is what the woke Carnatic singer TM Krishna who does everything apart from good singing said – “A shameful day”

On the other hand, the unique breed called “Dravidianists” or “Periyarists” went on to trend #LandOfRavana and #TamilPrideRavanaa without even realizing that Ravana was a north Indian Brahmin king born to Sage Vishrava and princess Kaikesi, a man who was well versed in Vedas and also a devout devotee of Lord Shiva.

The foul mouthed “Periyarist” and DMK bootlicker Savukku Shankar called Lord Ram as a “property used for begging”.

https://twitter.com/savukku/status/1290884587334144002

It was expected that these inimical elements will cry foul over this civilizational victory and it does give immense joy to see them twist and turn with uneasiness. But, it also invokes a sense of pity on them.

Here is something that will help these people cope with their burns (inside and outside).

With just a day left for the Bhoomi Pujan of the grand temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, soil from 2,578 sacred places of historical significance has been collected for the auspicious ceremony.

This news was made public by Ambrish, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) regional secretary for Uttar Pradesh (UP) East. According to this VHP functionary, the soil that has been collected include the birthplace of Ambedkar (Mau), samadhi of Kabir (Maghar) and the meditation site of Deoraha Baba (Deoria), Kamakhya Temple in Assam among thousand others.

Other important “Punya Sthal” (sacred places) from where soil has been collected include the birthplaces of freedom fighter Rani Laxmi Bai (Jhansi) and revered 16th-century spiritual leader Ravidas (Varanasi).

Soil from Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple, Varadharaja Perumal Temple, Ekambaranathar Temple and Kamakshi Amman Temple from Kanchipuram and Srirangam Temple too reached Ayodhya. Pnar tribals of Meghalaya who follow the ancient indigenous “Niamtre” faith also sent water and soil from Myntdu River in Jowai and Myntang River in Nartiang respectively.

The soil has been carefully stored in pots and cans at Karsevakpuram where the temple’s workshop is located.

August 5, 2020 will be a historic moment as the foundation stone for a grand temple for Lord Ram will be built at the Ram Janmabhoomi after centuries of struggle.
