In one of the most serious incidents, reported from Narippatta near Kozhikode, a devotional song dedicated to Sri Ram played during a Sri Krishna Jayanti procession provoked a group of alleged CPM workers into violence. According to local reports and visuals circulated on social media, the mob attacked participants, including young children dressed as Krishna and Gopikas, and their parents.

A young girl dressed as a Gopika sustained serious injuries, including a wound to her neck and a torn earlobe, and was treated at a government medical facility. Tableau vehicles accompanying the procession were also vandalised. Eyewitnesses and BJP district officials identified the assailants as local CPM members, including individuals previously accused in criminal cases.

However, as has sadly become routine with Hindu celebrations these days, those opposed to Dharma once again tried to play spoilsport. One such incident was reported from Narippatta, near Kozhikode, where CPM workers allegedly disrupted a yatra.

In Kannur’s Chittariparambu, CPM cadres reportedly attempted to block another Shobha Yatra, declaring the area an “RSS-banned zone.”

Despite the intimidation, the children continued their performance, protected by a circle of volunteers who ensured the procession could proceed.

Despite the disruption, the young Radhas and Krishnas were determined not to give up, especially after days of practice and rehearsal. In the video, the children can be seen dancing joyfully, undeterred by the ruckus around them.

A similar attempt to disrupt celebrations occurred in Alappuzha, where CPM workers allegedly waved flags of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) featuring Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara in front of the devotees in an apparent act of provocation.

Another incident was reported from Alappuzha, where CPM workers allegedly tried to provoke devotees and disrupt a Shobha Yatra by waving DYFI flags featuring Che Guevara.

In Udumbannoor, a communist group allegedly led by Alphith and Anandu assaulted RSS/BJP karyakartas, destroyed decorations prepared for Sri Krishna Jayanthi, and even attempted to vandalize their vehicles.

The Kerala unit of the BJP has strongly condemned the attacks. C. R. Praful Krishna, BJP Kozhikode North District President, demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and questioned the silence of the CPM leadership over what he called “blatant insults against Hindu beliefs.”

Critics point to a recurring pattern where Hindu processions are routinely targeted, often with minimal coverage from mainstream media and a lack of official recognition as communal incidents.

#1 Shiv Sena Leader Mangat Rai Murdered by BKI-Linked Assailants

On 14 March 2025, Shiv Sena district president Mangat Rai Manga was gunned down by three motorcycle-borne assailants in Moga district, Punjab. The attackers also injured two bystanders, including an 11-year-old boy. The Punjab Police launched an investigation and arrested three individuals affiliated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), a Pakistan-based terror outfit. Among the arrested were Arun alias Deepu and Rajveer. Officials confirmed the attackers acted under instructions from BKI mastermind Harvinder Rinda. While personal enmity was suggested as the motive, the case was deeply rooted in a broader terror conspiracy involving cross-border separatist elements.

#2 Arsh Dalla Gang Shooters Arrested in Gwalior Murder

On 7 November 2024, Jaswant Singh was shot dead outside his residence in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Investigations pointed to the involvement of the gang led by Arshdeep Dalla, a Punjab separatist figure operating from Canada. Two of Dalla’s shooters, Navjot Singh and Anmolpreet Singh, were arrested and found in possession of foreign-manufactured pistols from Australia and China. Their mobile phones had international IMEI numbers, indicating overseas coordination. Following the murder, Canadian authorities detained Dalla. The case revealed an expanding cross-border terror network targeting Hindus and Indian nationalists, with direct operational links between foreign handlers and local shooters.

#3 VHP Leader Vikas Prabhakar Assassinated in BKI Plot

On 13 April 2024, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Prabhakar, also known as Vikas Bagga, was shot dead at his sweet shop in Nangal, Rupnagar district, Punjab. The murder was carried out by terrorists linked to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). An NIA investigation uncovered a larger conspiracy coordinated from Pakistan, Germany, and Dubai. Wadhawa Singh, a BKI leader, instructed Germany-based operatives Harjeet Singh and Kulbir Singh to supply weapons and funding for the attack. Three men—Mandeep Kumar, Surinder Kumar, and Gurpreet Ram—were arrested, while the main conspirators remain absconding. The killing marked another instance of transnational extremist violence.

#4 Congress Leader Baljinder Singh Killed, Arsh Dala Claims Responsibility

On 19 September 2023, Congress leader Baljinder Singh Balli was shot dead at his home by two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle. Shortly after the murder, known Punjab separatist and gangster Arsh Dala claimed responsibility for the attack. In a video statement, Dala alleged that Balli had “ruined his future” and forced him into a life of crime. The murder sent shockwaves across the political landscape in Punjab and highlighted the growing influence of separatist elements with transnational links who are now targeting mainstream political figures to settle personal and ideological scores.

#5 Hindu Leader Sudhir Suri Shot Dead Outside Amritsar Temple

On 4 November 2022, Hindu leader Sudhir Suri was shot dead in a crowded area outside Gopal Mandir in Amritsar, Punjab. The attacker, Sandeep Singh Sunny, was apprehended by police on the spot. Investigators found a Khalistan sticker on the car used in the crime, suggesting a separatist connection. Suri had been under threat for some time, with intelligence inputs indicating that Khalistan sympathizers abroad had conspired to assassinate him. His killing was seen as part of a pattern of targeted violence against Hindu leaders in Punjab, orchestrated or encouraged by extremist groups with foreign support.

#6 RSS Leader Ravinder Gosai Assassinated by Khalistani Militants

On 20 October 2017, RSS leader Ravinder Gosai was shot dead near his home in Ludhiana, Punjab. The assassination came just weeks after the Punjab Police had arrested seven members of the Khalistan-linked group Babbar Khalsa International on September 26. The arrested militants, found in possession of firearms and ammunition, confessed during interrogation that they were targeting Hindu leaders who opposed Khalistani ideology. Gosai’s murder marked another violent act in the resurgence of separatist extremism in Punjab, where targeted killings have become a tool for spreading fear and destabilizing communal harmony.

#7 RSS Brigadier Jagdish Gagneja Murdered; Dashmesh Regiment Claims Attack

On 6 August 2017, retired Brigadier Jagdish Gagneja, deputy chief of the Punjab unit of the RSS, was shot in broad daylight by unidentified gunmen. He succumbed to his injuries later. The Dashmesh Regiment, a shadowy pro-Khalistan extremist outfit, claimed responsibility through an email sent to major media outlets, including PTI. Gagneja had been an outspoken critic of separatist ideologies, and his murder underscored the growing boldness of Khalistani terror groups operating both within India and through international support networks. The killing raised concerns about a resurgence of insurgent activity in Punjab reminiscent of the 1980s.

#8 KLF Behind Double Murder of Shiv Sena Leaders in Ludhiana

On 25 February 2017, Satpal Sharma and his son Ramesh Sharma, both Shiv Sena leaders and followers of Dera Sacha Sauda, were shot dead by Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) terrorists in the Jageda area of Ludhiana, Punjab. The attack occurred at a ‘Naam Charcha Ghar’ during a religious gathering. According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the murder was part of a larger international conspiracy orchestrated by KLF’s top leadership to incite communal tensions and eliminate ideological opponents. The incident further highlighted the cross-border influence and violent tactics of pro-Khalistan extremist groups operating in Punjab.

#9 Amit Sharma Assassinated by KLF-Sponsored Killers in Meerut Link

On 14 January 2017, Amit Sharma, head of Shri Hindu Takht, was gunned down by two unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle in Punjab. Investigations by the NIA revealed that the Khalistan Liberation Front (KLF) had masterminded the murder as part of a broader plot to destabilize communal harmony in the region. The NIA chargesheet named Ashish Kumar, Javed, and Arshad Ali, all from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, as key accused in executing the targeted killing. The cold-blooded murder was one of several carried out by KLF operatives targeting prominent Hindu figures in an attempt to revive separatist militancy.

#10 Shiv Sena’s Durga Gupta Murdered by Pro-Khalistan Sharpshooter

On 23 April 2016, Durga Gupta, leader of the Shiv Sena’s labour cell in Punjab, was shot dead in Khanna, Ludhiana district. Police investigations led to the arrest of sharpshooter Hardeep Singh Shera, who was found to be connected with Khalistani extremist networks. Gupta’s assassination marked the beginning of a disturbing trend of targeted killings of Hindu leaders by pro-Khalistan elements in Punjab. Shera’s name later appeared in multiple similar cases, establishing a pattern of hired killings orchestrated to reignite separatist sentiments in the state. The murder triggered widespread concern over the resurgence of Khalistani terror infrastructure.

A few days ago, members of the Hindu Swabhiman organization were attacked by a Muslim mob in Jamui, Bihar, while returning from a Hanuman Chalisa recitation. This is not the first time that this has occurred. Over the past few years, there have been multiple incidents of attacks on Hindus or Hindu groups reciting the Hanuman Chalisa across India. 

This report highlights seven major incidents of attacks by Muslim mobs on individuals or groups reciting the Hanuman Chalisa from 2022 to 2025.

#1 Jamui, Bihar

In Jamui, Bihar, on 16 February 2025, a group of Hindus returning from a Hanuman Chalisa recitation were attacked by a mob. The attack took place as they passed through a Muslim-majority area near a mosque. The mob pelted stones, damaged vehicles, and injured several individuals, including women and children. Activists from the Hindu Swabhiman organization, who were part of the group, were also injured. The police responded, and internet services were suspended in the area. Several individuals were arrested, and a case was registered in connection with the attack.

#2 Auto Driver Threatens Temple Over Hanuman Chalisa in Bilaspur

In January 2025, auto driver Ishaq Khan in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, threatened a priest and sevadaar at Dakshin Mukhi Hanuman Mandir after Hanuman Chalisa was played on a loudspeaker. Khan made objectionable comments about Hindu deities and Lord Ram, and threatened to damage the temple and remove the loudspeaker. The incident, captured by CCTV, angered local Hindu groups, prompting a protest. The police quickly arrested Khan, who claimed the loudspeaker disturbed his sleep.

#3 Hindu Shop Owner Attacked In Bengaluru For Playing Hanuman Chalisa

In March 2025, Mukesh Kumar, a Hindu shop owner in Bengaluru’s Siddanna Galli, was attacked by a group of youths for playing Hanuman Chalisa and other devotional songs in his shop near a mosque. The altercation began when the accused, identified as Suleiman, Shahnawaz, and Rohit, objected to the music during the Azaan time. The situation escalated into physical violence, with the attackers dragging Mukesh out of his shop and assaulting him. The victim, who had faced extortion attempts by the accused previously, filed a complaint. An FIR was registered after a protest by local traders, and three main accused were arrested.

#4 Stone Pelting Over Hanuman Chalisa In Vadodara

A clash broke out in Ektanagar, Vadodara, on 13 March 2024, after a Muslim crowd protested the playing of Hanuman Chalisa at a local temple. The argument escalated into a fight, with stone pelting and damage to loudspeakers. Three people—two Hindus and one Muslim—were injured. The police arrived swiftly, arresting three individuals, including both Hindu and Muslim youths, and registering an FIR against seven people.

#5 Hindu Man Attacked In Bhavnagar Over Hanuman Chalisa Dispute

Rajendrabhai Chauhan, a Vishwa Hindu Parishad member, was attacked in Bhavnagar on 1 February 2024, by Sahil Padarshi and Shaukat Mankad, allegedly over a dispute regarding playing Hanuman Chalisa. Chauhan claims the attack followed a prior altercation over the religious chant, which had been turned off by the accused months earlier. The attackers, armed with an iron pipe, struck Chauhan in the head, causing injury. The accused’s father, Munna, later threatened Chauhan. Police have registered an FIR and are investigating, though the incident’s connection to Hanuman Chalisa was not mentioned in the FIR.

#6 Bajrang Dal Workers Attacked In Saharanpur Over Hanuman Chalisa

In Mandebas village, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Bajrang Dal workers were attacked on 20 June 2023, after reciting Hanuman Chalisa at a local temple. The attackers, including Salim, Alijan, and others, allegedly used sticks, stones, and bricks, with one assailant, Azam, reportedly firing a shot. Three victims, including a disabled person, were injured.

The Bajrang Dal workers filed a complaint, accusing the attackers of attempting to kill them. The police, however, claim the incident was due to a DJ dispute.

#7 Bajrang Dal Workers Attacked in Haldwani Over Hanuman Chalisa Recitation

In Haldwani, Uttarakhand, Bajrang Dal workers were attacked after reciting Hanuman Chalisa at a local temple. The workers, Rakshit, Dev, and Manas, were returning home when a group on motorcycles attacked them at Sheeshmahal gate. Local residents apprehended three suspects, and an angry crowd gathered at the police station. Hindu organizations, led by Mayor Jogendra Rautela, held a panchayat demanding swift arrests. The police had arrested 10 suspects.

The Times of India (TOI) has hit a new low with its recent article on the arrest of Bangladeshi national Shariful Fakir, who allegedly broke into Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s home and stabbed him. Instead of condemning the crime and highlighting the dangers of illegal immigration, TOI chose to spin a sob story, painting Fakir as a victim of poverty and desperation.

It is not clear why TOI is trying to paint Fakir as a person of “systemic injustice”. The fact is that Fakir, the man who allegedly stabbed actor Saif Ali Khan six times, is an illegal Bangladeshi immigrant who entered India by paying a trafficker to cross the border. He then proceeded to steal, break into homes, and stabbed a Bollywood actor even! Yet, TOI’s article reads like a sympathy piece, detailing his struggles, his ailing mother, and his love for Shah Rukh Khan. Are readers supposed to feel sorry for a man who armed himself with stolen tools, targeted a wealthy home, and resorted to violence? Is the Times of India glorifying criminal behaviour?

What’s worse, the article glosses over the fact that Fakir’s illegal entry was facilitated by a network of human traffickers—a glaring issue that the publication barely acknowledges. Instead of calling out the truth about illegal immigrants, the article shifts the focus to Fakir’s “hardships,” as if poverty is a free pass to break the law.

TOI’s attempt to humanize Fakir by mentioning his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan is laughable. Breaking into private property and stabbing someone isn’t the act of an innocent fan—it’s the act of a criminal. By framing Fakir’s actions as a result of his circumstances, TOI is essentially saying that illegal immigration and violent crime are excusable if you’re poor.

The media is responsible for reporting facts, not fabricating excuses for criminals. Instead of spinning a tale of woe, TOI should ask tough questions: How did Fakir cross the border so easily? How could he obtain a SIM card and find work without proper documentation? What steps are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future? These issues matter, not some half-baked attempt to turn a criminal into a tragic hero.

TOI’s article is a disgrace to journalism. Illegal immigration is a serious issue, especially in a country like ours where these illegal immigrants are eating into our resources and causing a steep increase in problems of law and order.

Publications like the Times of India, The Hindu and other media are often seen portraying terrorists as humane, as people with emotions, as coming from “ordinary” backgrounds etc. These are not important stories that need attention, it is the other pressing issues that they are causing that need to be told.

A brazen attack on a fast-food shop employee occurred in Tirupathur district, with the victim identifying the assailants as local DMK functionary Nirmal, also known as ‘Vetti.’ Despite the victim filing a report with the police, no action has been taken thus far.

CCTV footage has now been released showing the attackers assaulting Salim, an employee at a fast-food shop owned by Rizwan, located near Vaniyambadi in Tirupattur district. On the 23 December 2024 while Salim was cleaning the shop, three individuals, including Nirmal, arrived at the location and threatened him with a knife and attacked. Although a complaint was lodged at the Vaniyambadi police station, no further steps have been taken in the case.

This is not an isolated incident, as DMK cadres have previously attacked biryani and chicken stall owners for refusing to provide food for free.

• In 2023, DMK cadre Ajith Kumar and his associates destroyed a hotel in Tambaram after being refused free chicken fried rice, attacking the owner and staff, and causing significant damage.
• In 2020, DMK office bearer Karthikeyan, after being refused biryani by Krishnan, the owner of ‘Karur Biryani Centre,’ due to the shop being closed, returned with his brother to vandalize the establishment. They caused significant damage by throwing stones and breaking equipment, an act captured on a nearby CCTV camera.
• Earlier in August 2018, Yuvraj, a DMK youth wing secretary and another party member named Dhivakar thrashed a hotel staff after he refused to give them free biryani.

On 19 December 2024, the Parliament witnessed a chaotic scuffle involving Members of Parliament (MPs) from both the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress. The confrontation occurred amid a protest sparked by Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s controversial remarks about Dr BR Ambedkar, which triggered widespread protests from the opposition.

The incident unfolded when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other opposition MPs were attempting to enter Parliament. BJP MPs accused Rahul Gandhi of deliberately pushing BJP MPs, resulting in head injuries to two BJP MPs—Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput.

Both MPs were admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with Sarangi reportedly suffering a deep cut to his forehead. Sarangi described the situation, stating that Gandhi pushed an MP who then fell on him, causing his injury. Rajput, who lost consciousness briefly after the incident, also sustained head injuries.

Meanwhile, BJP MPs, including Anurag Thakur, rushed to the Parliament Street police station to file a complaint against Rahul Gandhi and other Congress MPs, accusing them of physical aggression. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan echoed this sentiment, asserting that Gandhi’s actions had caused multiple MPs to fall, leading to the injuries of Sarangi and Rajput. BJP leaders also expressed their outrage over the incident, with Kiren Rijiju calling the behavior “shameful” and demanding an apology from Congress.

During the heated exchange, Rajya Sabha MP S Phangnon Konyak of the BJP alleged that Rahul Gandhi came very close to her and shouted at her during the protests. She stated that the incident had left her in tears, and she later submitted a formal complaint to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.

The tension in Parliament continued to rise as MPs from both sides clashed over the Ambedkar issue. The opposition had staged protests in front of Makar Dwar earlier in the day, accusing BJP MPs of obstructing their protests and preventing them from voicing their concerns. Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi, also joined the protests, holding placards demanding an apology from Amit Shah for his remarks about Ambedkar.

The controversy surrounding Shah’s comments on Ambedkar, which he had dismissed as a “fashion” to invoke Ambedkar’s name, intensified the protests. India on Monday said even though it remains “deeply concerned” about the safety and security of its nationals in Canada after the violence unleashed by Khalistani separatists at a Hindu temple in Brampton, it will not stop the outreach of consular officers to provide services to Indians and Canadian citizens. “We condemn the acts of violence perpetrated by extremists and separatists at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, Ontario yesterday, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a statement while calling on the Justin Trudeau-led Canadian government to ensure that all places of worship are protected from such attacks.

“We also expect that those indulging in violence will be prosecuted. We remain deeply concerned about the safety and security of Indian nationals in Canada. The outreach of our Consular officers to provide services to Indians and Canadian citizens alike will not be deterred by intimidation, harassment and violence,” he added. Earlier in the day, the High Commission of India in Ottawa had condemned the violent disruptions orchestrated by anti-India elements outside the consular camp in Brampton. “It is deeply disappointing to see such disruptions being allowed for routine consular work being organised by our Consulates with the fullest cooperation of local co-organisers.

“We also remain very concerned for the safety of applicants, including Indian nationals, on whose demand such events are organised in the first place. Despite these efforts by anti-India elements, our Consulate was able to issue more than 1,000 life certificates to the Indian and Canadian applicants…” the HCI said in a statement, adding that there were attempts made to disrupt similar camps held at Vancouver and Surrey on November 2 and 3. The CNCH stated that the violent Brampton attack by pro-Khalistani protestors has raised serious concerns about the safety of Canada’s Hindu community. “The protestors reportedly gathered at the temple’s main entrance, forcibly entered the premises, and physically assaulted temple members and visitors, leaving the community shaken and demanding action,” it said in a statement issued on Monday, India time.

It mentioned that Hindu Canadians have faced an increasing wave of violence in recent years and, despite repeated calls from community leaders for stronger security measures to protect Hindu places of worship, political leaders have failed to take substantial steps to address the growing hostility. “Hindu temples and institutions across Canada will no longer permit politicians to use temple facilities for political purposes.

Politicians, regardless of party affiliation, may continue to visit as devotees, but they will no longer have access to temple platforms until they demonstrate concrete efforts to address the issue of Khalistani extremism. This directive underscores the Hindu community’s commitment to safeguarding their sacred spaces and reinforces their demand for action to ensure the protection and dignity of all Canadians,” it added.

Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor (L-G) Manoj Sinha said on Saturday that the security forces had devised a new strategy to deal with the emerging terrorist threat and assured that every drop of innocent blood spilt by terrorists would be avenged. L-G Sinha remarked while addressing the parade of 629 BSF recruits passing out at the Humhama training centre in Budgam district. He said that the attack on innocent workers in Gagangir and the one in Baramulla district where army soldiers were killed is “highly condemnable”.

“India always wants peace with its neighbours, but unfortunately we have a neighbour that always tries to disturb peace in India despite facing ultimate poverty back home,” the L-G. Saying that the Border Security Force (BSF) is facing challenges on multiple fronts, be it protecting the LoC or the International Border, L-G Sinha emphasised the need for the force to expand its ambit and maintain close coordination with other central forces to tackle the challenges of terrorism. “The army and the central forces, including BSF, have to put in a collective effort to root out terrorism from J&K. BSF is one of the best central forces, but it needs to walk the extra mile,” he said, adding that security forces need to upgrade the technical capabilities to meet the drone challenges.

“Not just weapons, but narcotics are also being air-dropped through drones. We need to counter this challenge as drugs are consuming our younger generation. The finances earned out of narcotics sale is pumped in to fuel terrorism,” the L-G said. “The BSF should advance its technology, intelligence sharing, and enhance area domination,” he added. He praised the role of BSF in tackling terrorism in Punjab, saying that the force has great stories of valour and patriotism in its kitty.

“Your role in Kashmir is also appreciable. You are not working alone to fight terrorism but also on the civic front. This includes opening schools, helping the poor and dealing with the smuggling of weapons and drugs,” the L-G said. Wishing a bright future to the passing out recruits, L-G Sinha said that the BSF should train NCC cadets in a way so that they could be inducted into BSF tomorrow.

The BJP is not able to digest the love and blessings that Arvind Kejriwal is getting from people. Today, people associated with the BJP have tried to attack Arvind Kejriwal,” said AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj in a video posted on his X account.

He said that over the past few days, whenever Arvind Kejriwal engages with the public, he receives immense love and affection. He added that earlier too, attempts have been made to hurt Arvind Kejriwal in jail. “When Arvind Kejriwal was in jail, his insulin was stopped, attempts were made for his death,” Bharadwaj added. “Yesterday, he visited an ice cream shop in Connaught Place, followed by a paan shop, and soon, many youngsters, children, and elderly people gathered to talk and take selfies with him,” he said. He added that this is what the BJP is struggling to accept and today, BJP-affiliated individuals attempted to attack Arvind Kejriwal. There was a major lapse in Kejriwal’s security in the Vikaspuri during his campaign. Reportedly, five to six people reached very close to the former Delhi Chief Minister and tried to attack him.

However, the AAP workers in the security ring prevented the possible attack on Kejriwal. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the attack on Arvind Kejriwal is extremely condemnable and worrying. “It is clear that the BJP has carried out this attack through its goons. If anything happens to Arvind Kejriwal, the entire responsibility will be on the BJP. We are not going to be afraid—the Aam Aadmi Party will remain steadfast on its mission,” the former Deputy Chief Minister said. He added that BJP first tried to kill Arvind Kejriwal in jail, adding that now the court has released him and he is coming out every day to meet the people of Delhi, so BJP is trying to kill him through its goons. “BJP wants to finish off Arvind Kejriwal by any means because they will never be able to defeat him in elections,” he said.

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the attack on Arvind Kejriwal is deeply condemnable and alarming. “It’s evident that BJP orchestrated this through its goons. If anything happens to Kejriwal ji, BJP will be fully responsible,” he said. He added that Kejriwal has been a beacon of honest politics and a pioneer of change, transforming Delhi’s & Punjab’s education, healthcare, and infrastructure. “His leadership is crucial not just for Delhi but for the future of India. We will not be intimidated—AAP will stay committed to its mission,” the minister said.

Army said on Friday that the Botpathri attack has proved that Pakistan is abetting terrorism in Kashmir. “Pakistani terrorists, with a view to disrupting peace and stability in Kashmir, cowardly targeted an Army column in general area Butapathri, Baramulla on 24 October 2024, which was carrying soldiers and local porters,” a defence ministry statement said. It added that on being fired upon, the alert troops swiftly and resolutely retaliated the fire, forcing the terrorists to retreat leaving behind a weapon and rucksack and escape into dense foliage, exploiting a nala and fading light.

“Regrettably, two brave Indian Army soldiers, one from Anantnag district and the other from Sirsa District succumbed to the injuries sustained during the exchange of fire, thereby making the supreme sacrifice,” it said. The statement added that the Indian Army salutes the bravery of Rifleman Kaisar Ahmad Shah and Rifleman Jeevan Singh, who despite being hit responded and forced the terrorists to flee, before laying down their lives in this cowardly terrorist attack. It said that actions by these brave soldiers prevented the terrorists from causing any further damage and demonstrated unwavering courage and commitment to safeguard the National Security and counter the inimical agenda of Pakistan abetted terrorism in Kashmir. The statement said that their selfless act is a testament to the Indian Army’s resolve to safeguard our nation and citizens.

“Alongside the brave soldiers, two Kashmiri porters Zahoor Ahmad Mir resident of Boniyar Tehsil and Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary resident of Uri Tehsil also made the ultimate sacrifice, while serving the nation,” it said. The statement added that it is evident that Pakistani terrorists are, deliberately and unregretfully, targeting Kashmiri locals to evoke fear and terror in Valley, which is progressing towards peace and stability. “The only ideology these terrorists espouse is of ‘The Reign of Terror in Valley’,” the defence ministry statement said.

It said that the Indian Army pays tribute to these brave soldiers and porters, who laid down their lives while serving the nation and extend heartfelt condolences to their families. “Indian Army remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our citizens and will resolutely achieve its efforts to combat terrorism and promote harmony in Kashmir Valley. The sacrifices of these brave Kashmiris and Indian Army soldiers will inspire the future generations to stand against the perpetrators of terror,” concluded the defence ministry statement.
